I don't think the resolution is high enough for me to do it justice. I saw your explanation on DA as to why you're quitting drawing. Sorry to hear you're not doing too good right now. What I would implore you to do though, is not destroy or delete what you have done. Put the pencil works in a drawer, and archive your files. Don't do something you may regret in a few years. I hope you find what you need. Stay frosty.

Uhmm... yeah... that all sounds pretty intense but in the words of the prophet of the future Amy, "Why?" It sounds like some time away from it wouldn't be a bad idea if you're getting, what sounds like, that intense about it. Sounds like you set some high expectations for yourself but didn't have the experience to know if they were reasonable expectations. If you find doing art fascinating and you find yourself doing it for hours on end that's great. But some of what you mention sounds like a descent into obsession which isn't very good for you. Almost sounds like a manic cycle of work, work, work - argh! nobody cares!(why should they?) - destroy, destroy, destroy. I don't think you should pull the plug on what you've done, it's good work. There's nothing about fan art that should push someone into a Van Gogh scenario. For gosh sakes do something else for a while, go outside, veg. with the TV, talk to actual people, even art with different subjects. Stop putting yourself behind your own 8-ball.
P.S. I don't think Deviant Art is the place you want to go to get noticed in numbers. It's a great archive but it's pretty crowded and is very broad in scope. Message boards like PEEL and other show specific sites will do a lot to build your reputation for fan art among fans of specific shows. I didn't know you were "out there" until you posted here on PEEL. And, if you want view hits, and you're old enough, do some adult-themed art. You'll get lots of hits and lots of flames but you may wind up developing a tougher hide which wouldn't be all bad. Just avoid getting suckered by flattering or manipulative people that want you to do stuff for them for free or do things the way they want it so they can be happy while you do all the work.

The lack of views didn't happen on DA to MissFuturama.

Um her work gets more views and faves in hours than some,of my stuff that took years to reach those numbers. Compared to her, I'm a nobody.
You do your work for yourself, you draw your own style. The only views and faves you should care about ARE THOSE FROM YOUR OWN ARTWORK. Imagine one of Missfuturama's pics just having 100 views, and suddenly going up to 1000. What does that mean to you? Your artwork stays the same, wether her pic got those 100 or 1000 views. Wether the public considers her pic the greatest thing ever, or the worst piece of crap ever: Neither of those extremes (or any opinion in between) will affect or change your art. Also, if you just wanted to increase your view numbers: You could take random screenshots, and simply increase Leela's (or Amy's, or whoevers) bust size. The No1 Leela pic shows it's an efficient way to get hits. By uploading those pics to the right groups (and/or entering the appropriate keywords), those images are likely to get more views and faves than Viktorias. If those numbers are all that matters to you, you should do that. I am only suggesting this strategy because I am 99,99999% sure that you will NOT take that course of action. Why not, when it's eligible to create lots of hits? After all, it was already done by one guy who managed to surprass Viktorias fave count by the factor 10? So it seems that views/faves are not really the only criterium mattering to you. Think about it So, and after that verbal kick in the butt to get you moving, you will stop complaining. Go to a punching ball, hit it repeately REALLY hard should you be in a bad mood, get a sixpack (or two, or three, or any alcoholic beverage)....and then get back to your drawing board!
