A couple of notes. Hopefully before you go to ink. - Zoidberg is only slightly taller than Amy. - Amy's feet are way too big. - Fry's torso appears to be scrunched to short which leads to the same problem with the Leela figure. Both drawings have what appear to be "Simpsonized" arms/hands and legs/feet. Futurama human charaters have closer to natural proportions overall except for a large toon head. I know you don't want to trace but since you can't draw from real life you may want to do a QA eyeball review of the grabs below. Somewhat rare pic of the crew where they are all lined up along the horizontal line side-by-side. Good for relative heights. Natural body proportions and absolutely women's size shoes. Down to art basics (it's art - so snickering please). Natural body proportions not Simpsons "Gumby" forms.

I don't entirely understand here. For someone who's making fan-made drawings of Futurama characters, does it really have to be so precise and accurate? If I tried drawing what Unit42 draws I wouldn't be nearly as as good as him, in all honesty. And I wouldn't care. Fan-made is just that, fan-made. You don't always have to be so precise. Not that I'm saying your stuff is terrible, Unit42. Hell no. It's much better than what I would draw. I mean, for me, I mostly trace an "outline" of the image I'm drawing before doing it all neat and detailed or anything. Sorry if I sound like an idiot. I'm just quite confused as to why it's such a big deal to others if the pic isn't as accurate like in ordinary pictures. Unless, of course, Unit42 wants the images to be precise etc. himself, then I can understand that. But coming from other people, I don't see what the fuss is about. It's fan-made, not an official thing you get paid for. It's not that important. Again, pardon if I sound like an idiot. Just thought I'd put that out there. Edit: Obvious things like the tufts missing on the back of Fry's hair are understandable, but little details like the height and hands of the characters I don't understand. I mean, take a look at my latest image on my thread. Slender's hands aren't nearly as half-decent as I originally planned them to be, but the rest of him is OK, so I don't mind.

He has indicated he likes to get as accurate as possible so I just put the info out there if he wants to make use of it. More a matter of looking before drawing which many fan artists don't seem to ever get the hang of. They sort of dwell on the output and are light on the input which sort of leads to a lot of drawing but no improvement over time.

I don't entirely understand here.
I just saw it as artists offering constructive suggestions to another artist, when shown a WIP.

Better. But the characters all have small and short torsos in proprtion to arms and heads. That and some arm and hand chubbyness gives them all a child look. Tip: Elbows are about at the bottom of the rib cage and thumbs are at about ay the butt cheek bottoms.

That's a lot better. Now we just have to hope the new arrival doesn't look a lot like Zapp.

Um, I've had the worst couple of months since the last week in May. It was one string of bad news/stuff after another and one of which was a "Goodbye" note from MissFuturama. With all the shit going on in my life, she, unfortunetly, became a target of all my hostility which I thought would make the pain go away, but made me look like a braindead asshole and overall unpleasant individual (as seen in the past few pages of this thread). Worse yet, everything coming down on me and my emotions a wreck, it compounded into a perfect storm of "how to ruin a friendship beyond repair" : http://simpspin.deviantart.com/journal/I-ll-Always-remember-You-394251309================================= When the shit in my personal life was hitting the fan, I kind of fled into my artwork as a reprieve to all the drama, a way try to enjoy some sort of life. The more favorites and hits I got with my pictures provided a false sense of comfort at the time and when I saw people like MissFuturama get tons of hits and faves because they 'traced' chunks of the pictures, at the time it infuriated me, not because of jealousy, but out of the way a person who isn't doping up is ignored over the person who's an athlete that's skin-covered steroids. Before this summer, I really didn't care about how other people do things and it was at some point two weeks ago, I woke up thinking about Viktoria, my situation and my art and tried to get things back into perspective, i.e., like a non-crazy person should. As you could see by the link above, sometimes things ain't going back. But anyway, life goes on. You win some, you lose some and I hope that I've learned something from all this nonsense this past two months. While I lost Viktoria's friendship, I've gained better perspective on how I view my art and what to put effort into and what to just let it be.
