Yup, the day finally arrived that I have need for a new thread! Here's a re-post of what was going on on my second thread's final days page. It's a bittersweet event, in so much as I loved my old thread's title, and was at a loss for something greater so I resorted to thorough cheapness in the title department and more or less made a sequel title. Hooray!

Specifically for Bendersfan1221

If you feel like seeing how crappy I used to draw, here's a historical section of links to my old threads.
Professor Zoidy's first ever scans done on regular paint!
Aww it's so pretty! But what the Hell is it? Zoidy's Art Thread.

More art I've yet to post. Sorry it isn't Futurama-related.

Yes, Magneto. :) Meanwhile in the land of "Why did you draw that?" George Lucas!

As you can tell this is Pre- Prequel Lucas. Because I prefer to pretend the prequels don't exist. Mostly.

Edit: I'd like to note that he's totally go a "what the fuck?" expression in my interpretation. I'm sure he's asking that of his future self. Er, present self? Whatever!

Certainly. I'm in the process of doing up a picture of Luke at the moment (as my first attempt was rather... BAD) and it's going rather good all things considered.

There's one thing I wish in life. To be able to draw as good as some people. And one of those people are you. Please do keep up the good work. Don't stop drawing. LOL

Seriously, stuff like that gets me all sappy. I've got a long road ahead of me in terms of skill level, but I'm entirely flattered I've made someone's list of "Artists That Draw Well". And by that I mean I need more work in the realism department. I just need to keep at it really. I stopped after I took Drawing 2 and my skills got a tad rusty.

Characters I created. I think I posted some of the guy on the right, but the girl is entirely new. She was supposed to be Glynarg as well but... Well, I deviated.

@Danny: Yeah, I know. To be honest with you they were worse than that at one point. I eventually just put my pencil down on this one to do better another day. Arms are impossible for me it would seem.

@lauren: Aww, I bet you can draw more than stick dudes! :D Just takes some hard work, dedication, and the occasional elbow lube to keep the joint working. Somebody stop me from making more terrible artist humor! :laff:

@Randi: :love:

Tachyon: Many thanks. I used this sketch as a double assignment. I wanted to draw up Futurama art and wanted to practice poses. I found a lovely stock image of a young lady posing as such and decided to interpret it in Groening's style... which evolved into this mess of bad proportions and my style barely flying as Groening's. Oh well, it was fun!

@Zmithy: Thank you!

I'll thank everyone again for all the comments!! Goodness, it's been so long since I've had so much feedback. I've got another Leela coming up in sorta-my-style and maybe I'll try drawing some other characters as well. :)

I might look on the internet to find out how to add on joints from a basic stickman

I like the picture, the expression is great.
You streched the character a bit, it seems, abandoning the stout "Groening" look, and getting a bit closer to real human anatomy.

One minor point of constructive criticism:
Her torso seems a little bit too short:
When the arms are hanging down, the fingertips should roughly be the height of the upper leg's middle. Your Leelas fingertips arms might reach out a bit too much for her knees when the arms are hanging down.

(Hm..as I give rather detailed descriptions regarding criticism, my posts always look as if I have more to complain than to praise. Let me assure you: Though it might look that way, it's certainly not the case :) )

Yes, I did end up with more realistic proportions and I tried to rein that in but alas I lost the battle! I thank you for the constructive criticism, Hein, and I pretty much knew that before I posted the picture up. :) Pesky bodies always getting in the way of my talents! I promise to at least try to fix those issues in the future.

Aww, gosh, thank you! I'm diggin' the new avatar BTW. Simply marvelous.

That Leela I promised you guys a post or two ago is scanned in and ready to get re-sized/colored so it'll be up as soon as I get a chance to slap so virtual paint on it! :D Not my typical fare, a bit different style-wise (as it seems to be every time I draw her in 'my style') but I think you guys'll enjoy it. I should consider drawing Zapp in my style... He would be pretty fun to interpret....

He's the unheard of Avenger, who like to use his name as his catchphrase because he's so lame, he can't possibly do any better. Nobody's sure what he does. He probably goes around SHIELD's office and refills coffee mugs all day.

B.I.N.G.O could be another Marvel organisation full of old ladies as members who save the universe from evil forces such as Justin Beiber and One Direction.

Ahahah, this is so lame I need to really work on bodies like hardcore. If you can imagine, her hair was even more ridiculously large than it is here... I had to reign myself in for the sake of it looking a smidge better.

Fantastic!  You have the ability to bring life and character to these drawings.  Especially the eyes.  So many I have seen fail to give the eyes life but you do it splendidly.

Aww thank you! I find that I tend to always focus on the eyes. I feel like the eyes are a really huge part of expressing emotions, right in sync with eyebrows. If nothing else is accomplished properly, I find you can still sorta fudge things using the eyes/ brows alone. The bad side of doing that is that I always make my eyes/ eyebrows too large! I have to draw them large and then rein myself back a bit, which is always tough to do. Stylistically I've always taken to drawing thick eyebrows, and they're always the same shape. I believe they roughly reflect my own but mine aren't dark! I rock some Matt Smith-like brows that are tough to really see from far away.  Long post short, I'm entirely ecstatic to hear I accomplish eyes. :D

@Spacedal: I knowwwwwwwwww.  :love:

You're very welcome, Zoidy.  You hit the nail on the head too.  The eyes are key.  If the eyes are right one can get away with much more in the rest of the face.  Also, I think that expression>realism, especially when it comes to cartoons.  So, when it comes to eyes/eyebrows or hair, as you mentioned don't be afraid to exaggerate!   :D
