So does Fry get the girl? *Wink wink* I've never seen the movie '300' but I think i'll be able to follow this.
You might also ask: - Will Fry be the only one who gets that girl? - Will Fry just get one girl? Na, I'm just messing with you. But I might already tell you, as I do not consider it a big secret: I will usually let my comics (unless it's a specific episode spoof) play in a time when Fry and Leela are already together. The "endless chase" scenario has imhO been done to death. Another reason is that I want their dialogs to be a bit "tougher"..couples often manage to get on each others nerves BIG TIME. The "Fry chasing after Leela" dialogs were often just too sensitive, as if Fry feared a single wrong word would drive Leela away (which basically happend in some episodes). Therefore, with a commited couple you can do occasional "giving each other the business" dialogs. Without making the reader wonder if this means the end of their relationship...just a couple bickering for some short gags.

Except "300", "30" will include elements from "Indiana Jones", "Star Wars", "Iron Sky", "Children of Men", "Crank", "Hulk", with the whole mood getting rather action oriented. Some scenes will be darker and more sinister than "normal" Futurama...but as I put my own twist on it drawing wise, I do not see a reason not to take liberties with the plot, too wink Also, it will be influenced by the "Asterix" Comic series, and some elements from the comic "Aquablue" (from which Avatar was basically ripped).
Looks like there's some Warhammer 40k influence in there too. That monster on page seven looks like it could be a Tyranid variant. Awesome! (I used to field 'nids so I got a soft spot for them.)

Yep, I "Borrowed" a Catachan Devil based on the 4th edition codex artwort. A little insider joke, that Amazonia will be Catachan in the year 40.000 Yet, that will be just some short gag. Regarding the movies mentioned above, longer plots and developments will be taken from them.

That's pretty trippy and totally cool
Thanks:) So, for a change, no preview from "30", but a regular cartoon. I still haven't seen "Butterjunk effect", but I read about Fry's transformation. I immediatelly had this idea, grabbed a screenshot of transformed Fry, and drew this one in about 1,5h. (Sorry, the background is a bit of a rush job, but I went for the GEFY technique. GEFY = Good enough for you ) Also, I will leave tomorrow for an Irish Folk festival, so I wanted to have that cartoon up before:

Sorry, but I do not even know who Erik Heltner is, so....no, I have not been talking to him The whole Amy/Kif scene is basically the comedy rule "Who dishes out throughout an episode will face some sort of punishment at the end". And -from what I heard so far- Amy's behaviour was beyond the point where a simple "Sorry" still would have done it I was a bit reluctant to add that detail due to so called "Vampire effects", in which one detail draws too much attention away from an image's supposed main focus (in that case obviously the Dune Crossover). As everyone here will know Amy/Kif, but not everyone the Dune novels, that detail can easily "outshine" the main humorous focus on Leto Atreides II. Yet, there was a blank space on the pic, and Amy/Kif were just perfect in size to fill that one, so I took that risk.

@MissFuturama>Thanks, though I would not call my technique "perfect" Many of my pictures are just rush jobs, as the time factor easily becomes a key factor in comics and cartoons... @Tyranik>Thanks:) Sound's really awesome. So does Fry get the girl?
I already answered you above, but to give a little preview from the next page of "30": The question will not be wether Fry GETS the girl, but rather wether Fry KEEPS the girl

No new cartoon, just an random, pointless information: Just found out today is my one-year Peel anniversary. Counted my cartoons and comic pages, and found out I drew 62 of them by now. So, the at least the quantity seemed to be all right..

@Lauren,Tyraniak > Thanks So, a bit more WIP from the "30" cover, depicting Future events from that comic: Farnsworth as weapon producer, Kif, Dwight and Cubert as Doop Troppers (and rather drunk ), the Robot Devil will play a role, and in later stages, Morbo and Lrrr will also join. Little spoiler Kif's tankard does contain mead... Hey...I said it's ony a LITTLE spoiler

So, it's Fry's birthday today, and I think he deserves a gift. A 45 minute scribble I made for his birthday thread, but -for completions sake- uploaded it also in my cartoon thread:

It's Fry's birthday today!
I also just found out the 14th... Initally, I had planned the cartoon to be longer: Leela packing a parcel, Bender walking by, asking her what she is doing. Leela tells him it's Fry's birthday, Bender panicks for forgetting it (probably once again;)), desperately trying to come up with an idea for a last-minute gift. Leela tries to help, asks Bender "Now...can you think of anything Fry REALLY wants?". Bender eyes Leela thoughtfully... Well...and the image shown above would have been the next one Unfortunately, there was not enough time yesterday to complete a whole strip, so that single image had to suffice...

So, FINALLY Finished the Cover my "30". (The image is a tad too big for Peel, that's why you should check the full sized version on Imageshack by clicking on the pic) The layout goes for the typical "Book cover" layout, with the left side being on the back, and the right the front. (That's why the title on the right).

I nearly forgot to say thanks for the praise...sorry. So, thanks (One last little thing about the cover: By importance, Zapp and Glab should have been in the pic. Yet, I could just find no spot for them anymore.)

Howdy Thanks:) Nice to see some of the earliest posters in this thread once again So, some bad news (or good news for those who hate my stuff ): I normally want to have at least one pic/comic page up per week, but I have been lazy this week. (Must admit I even got a slightly bad conscience about that). Yet, to show you whose fault it is: Have been working on that model, and it demanded more of my time than I did expect.

Thx:) First, I must admit my grasp for English phrasal verbs and colloquial expressions turned a tad rusty. So I am not quite sure wether "one of a set" means: "A model kit with pre-existing parts you put together, instead of building everything from scratch" or "A series of various different models, with this one just being one of many". I assume the last one ist meant: The model is part of the miniature range for the tabletop game "Warmachine". It belongs to the fraction Khador (who are basically Steampunk themed Russians). I got some other Khadorian models painted, ranging from 30mm high (ordinary human being) to this guy (base is 120mm, haven't measured the height, though). Oh yeah, as I was asked that question before: The colour gradients were not created by airbrush, but using an ordinary brush. Applying dark and light colours in the right places. (Also: Some folks said I should do some colouring: So, here you got some colour. This is what you meant, right? )
