Love Zylex replacing Slurms. Brilliant.

The funny thing is: It does not make the slightest sense, but somehow, it seemd all right in a strange way;) I wanted some char on a surfboard, and the "bigges fuzz about nothing" guy Zylex came to my mind. When I saw he had plenty of room left on his board to be filled, I thought of Slurms commercial and his two "Surf passengers".
Well...I have to admit that I didn't do myself much of a favor with that image: I have a future cartoon planned with Dixie and Trixie as the villains. For that cartoon, they may not have taken their old job back. Well, I'll figure something out to make that work...

Am I the only one who sees Comic Book Guy!??

Well..it sems so:) Also, it seems no one has seen public nudity Farnsworth being chased by Smitty and URL. But I cannot really blame you...there are some things you don't want to take a closer look...:p

So..there has been lot of work lately, so not too much drawing was done by me.
(I also have to finish the A2 view over New New York).

Well...but I certainly would not want another week pass without any completed cartoon, so here is at least a quick one:

(That image was also my tribute to old-school Galactica design, which I like much better than the new one)

This will be a little OT now:

I'm actually very interested in your shiny new Necrons to be honest.

As I already told you via PM, my "shiny new Necrons" will take a while to be completed. Meanwhile, I could offer you some "slimy old Tyranids" while you wait ;)

I wanted to draw on the recent A2 page. But it was late, Kung Fu training was hard (I won all my sparring matches except one that was a draw :) ) and then there was the soccer classic Germany vs Netherlands.
To cut a long story short: My concentration was not really fit enough for complicated page layouts. But I made a 30 minutes doodle. Nothing special, and somewhat predictable and childish, but I was in a funny mood this evening:

Hehe...I have to admit I am amazed you are so impressed by the 30 minutes.

The pic does not really feature too many details, for I didn't want to spend too much time on a rather flat joke. (I did spend much more time on e.g. the Centurion, as he represents my personal tribute to old Galactica).

@Otis> Btw, the shading was just a little pencil work. It was the fastest part, hardly over 5 minutes ;)

Fantastic, as always.

Well..to be fair, a "Oh, Heather" is also in order. Even in the Futurama universe, it would not have taken a genius to find out how "that" was supposed to have worked ;)

Damned..had I known you all liked that nonsense, I would have invested some more time in that pic (maybe using the "Time proof shelter" from "Time keeps on Slipping" as background...well...at least more details. I like details ;) )

Well...here is another WIP pic, this time again from NNY again:

Hmm, it seems that Walt and Larry finally grew a collective pair...

Was about time ;) When I first saw these characters, I expected them to be a bit more different. Igner the moron, Larry somewhat normal, and Walt the mean, cunning one. Not quite en-par with his old Lady (yet), but in a certain way waiting for his chance (the ursurper in waiting, so to speak).
Right now, we basically have one moron, who is split over three characters. And -let's face it- there are enough characters in Futurama who can do moronic stuff, not really a need for three more of them. The moronic sons are still very funny, but I think these characters had even more potential. (Well...my two cents regarding that subject)

I'm loving the Kang and Kodos appearance. :)

Thanks:) Of course, these two guys are those Simpsons characters that really DEMAND a cameo in Futurama :)

To bring back a memory:
Remember when I posted that guy I had to conjure up for a design contest in about one hour? It seems he made the race, and a miniature will be made of him (much fun with the skulls and the ornaments, guys :D :D :D)
Well, I will keep you updated as soon as WIP pics or pics of the completed miniature become availabe :)

So, it's 4.04 in the morning her in Germany. I just watched "Real Steel" (begin: 23.00), but I was determined to finish the next part of my mini comic.

I also added the previous comic parts to this post, that you do not have to search through the thread.

Btw...the NNY scene will be much to small for the forum...you will have to go to http://inquisitor-hein.deviantart.com/art/Futurama-Mini-Comic-Part-2-271109620
to view in proper size:

Thanks:) Yep, I'm also curious how that miniature will turn out:) (But I'm afraid this might yet take a while, and I do not know wether WIP pics will be released...:( )
I have to admit: That "show off" joke was my last minute rescue. I had already laid the whole scene out, when I suddendly thought "Erm..when they are still in New New York, why do they have to use Nibbler's ship?" So, it was some kind of "Pretend your own mistake was intentional" last minute joke :))

That was my plan:)

Unfortunately, no new cartoon today, but still something for the weekend.
For a Future Comic (not the present one), I do need Morbo's Race march to war again (not against Earth this time;)). Though that Earth invasion promo pic features their normal infantery, I plan to do some really detailed battle scenes. And for those I need more troop types.

So, this is my first design for that comic, the "Heavy Infantry" of Morbos Race.

The right hand (as seen from the trooper) was inspired by a Warhammer 40K Power Fist. The gun in his left hand was first inspired by a "Tau Ghost Warrior" Weapon, but my design soon went it's own way.

Fear? Hm...there will be much more fearful and meaner guys on the battleflied than this little buddy;)
About the helmet: I learned from "Warhammer 40.000" that helmets are for weaklings;)

Thanks for the positive feedback:)
(I am afraid that comic will not start before next year, and I will be lucky should it be completed by the end of 2012).

I am so excited you're doing even more with Morbo. Great drawing.

Hm...I only wanted to use Morbos race, without Morbo himself. And now I feel obliged to add Morbo...
Oh well..so what: In that cartoon, I do have a subplot with Dixie and Trixie as villains, a subplot for Emperor Grog, Farnsworth lecturing history at Mars university, Fry trying to be an archeologist on Planet Amazonia, Bender becoming a weapon dealer, Leela having trouble with Space Whales again...so, I will also somehow manage to fit Morbo into that one, too.
(In case someone thought I just postet that to make people curious: Yep, exactly that's why ;) )

So, time to prove I did something productive: A WIP picture for my next (short) cartoon (will be a three panel cartoon):
The trio chased by a giant killer cyborg teddy bear.
(I might finish that cartoon on sunday).
