My Futurama Cartoon(s)

I threatened to draw Futurama cartoons in the thread "Drawing experiment with the Trio"
You had some time to jump up, wave your arms franatically in the air,
screaming "Oh No, No, Dear Lord No, Nay, a thousand times NAY!!!!"

You failed to do so, that's why I started this thread
Right now there is only one cartoon, but I will keep posting others
as soon as they are completed.

First One, based on "All the presidents heads": Which times they
might yet visit, and which other events are for the crew to change or trigger in that past.
(Yep...I know they are not dressed properly according to that epoche...
if anyone should feel disturbed by that, he/she can bite my hairy, biological ass )

So, came up with another cartoon.
Time travel again (this time to ancient Greece):



(To be honest...I am a bit proud of the "Homer" pun )

The newest cartoons will be shown in this threads latest post, but I also post them again in the first post (so you can see all of them without having to scroll through the whole thread)

So, what else is up for future cartoons:

- Fry becoming a successfull holophoner player
- The Planet Express Crew roaming the Star Wars Universe
- More realistic (means: meaner) versions of certain scenes
- We will find out who REALLY is the competent writing staff that takes care of the continutiy aspect in the Leela/Fry relationship
- Putting Leela in Leia Slave Outfit (yep, there is also a joke around that)

But some folks had questions regarding the joke. So, before I do send several PNs out, I
will rather answer it here:

Setting is a "Head-Lick-Timetravel" to ancient Greece.

The ancient greek Legend "Odysee" mentions Ulysses journey home after the Battle for Troja, and the adventures he endured during that journey. One of those was him being imprisoned by the giant Cyclops Polyphemus. By blinding the cyclops with a self made spear, Ulysses and his surviving men could escape.

In reality, we have a rather clumsy soldier named Ulysses, accidently nearly poking his
spear in  the only present cyclops (Leela's) eye. And someone used this rather
unspectacular incident, blew it up and turned it into a legend.

The poet's name who did write the Odysee was in fact "HOMER".
That's why -as a pun- the other Greek soldier does look like Homer Simpson.

You know...some jokes are so predictable and obvious that despite (or rather BECAUSE) of that they just have to be drawn.
(As this is the second cartoon ridiculing Leela in a row, I was reluctant to draw this one. But my other ideas feature too many persons and details, so this was the only cartoon I could finish in one evening....)

Well..saving Earth four times (after Cold Warriors..oops...sorry, that was "just" New New York) and the Universe twice will probably fit the job description;) He is just to dumb/unlucky to get a profit out of it, and mostly anyone noticing;)

I did think about drawing Leela as a "Metal Chick", but it would not really have worked in that cartoon.
Had she been clad in Metal outfit, you could think she enjoyed the concert, and Fry did in fact get really good on the holophoner, just with a different style.
But in her casual outfit, the whole ending looked more unexpected, more like a surprise.



Well....right now, I am thinking of keeping that band for occasional appearances every few month. E.g. a band on tour will need to hire a tour bus...erm....ship ("Good News, everyone" "Oh Lord...no, please no...anything but that.." )


But certainly not the next cartoon, which I will have to draw before the airing of "Overclockwise". As tiny as it is, this Episode still stands a microscopic chance that the writers will settle the Leela/Fry relationship, and keep consistent storywriting in season 7 (yep..I also had to grin when I typed that )
Anyway..this chance DOES exist, and -if I am about to ridicule the writing staff about that- I'd rather like to do so when the mistake is still "alive", and not when it (theoretically ) might be settled after the next episode...

Truth be bold, I was a bit reluctant to post this one...I considered the joke a bit too cheap, and the drawing didn't take too long, either.

Anyway...here is a quick preview regarding a future cartoon.
This will be the first of 5 pages, so this thing might take a while.
