Thx everyone!

You could probably fetch a good price for this baby on eBay once it's complete.

No, no, no! Too much work already for selling him on ebay. Besides I'm not even sure if that would be legal. "I don't think so, Tim!" ;)

What if I offered you a thousand dollars?

I don't have a thousand dollars - it's a hypothetical. If I did have a thousand dollars I'd spend it on a black market handgun with which to rob local conveniences and thus transform my thousand dollars into twenty-thousand dollars. So, all things considered, it's probably best for everybody that I don't have a thousand dollars.

I will NOT comment yout last post, coldangel_1.  :D  ;)

Ok ... yesterday I began to think about how to build the body and the first question that came to my mind was: "Which pose should he strike?" So if one of you has an ideas ...

I really like the one in this picture made by femjesse but I don't know if it would look good on a small-scale model. I'm afraid the answer is "No".

http://femjesse.deviantart.com/art/Robot-Devil-CLR-21101839

I also noticed the problem that his body looks a bit different in every single scene of the show (Especially the proportions). So I think I'll have to make some outlines to decide which one looks best in reality.

Ps.: I found a picture of the skullcap which I thought I deleted by accident on the memorycard of my camera. Perhaps now you'll understand why it took me more than two hours to bend it.  ;)

One arm with the wrist against his body crooked and the other arm extended pointed at his intended victim or like he's lecturing someone.
His power should down the arm and out of his extended finger.

Ok: It started building the paper models for the body. The real body will be made out of wood and Bondo because I think it would be impossible to bend a perfect 360 degree metal barrel with the tools I have.

What do you think? Ok? Too big? Too small?

For the paper model I made two conical barrels:

1) Radius at the top: 4,0 cm, Radius at to bottom: 3,5 cm .

2) Radius at the top: 3,3 cm, Radius at to bottom: 3,0 cm.

The "spine" between his two body parts would be 2,5 cm.

Ps.: I added red lines because I wasn't able to calculate a conical barrel out of paper so I just build ordinary barrels.  :D

I checked it against the jpg at the infosphere and it looks really spot on. The horns protrude about 1/2 length past the torso. In my opinion you are good to go.
When you affix the head to the torso you can make another check about the abdomen.

Isn't that giant metal head on a wooden body gonna be a bit Topsy turvy?
Or is the wood just a frame?

I have to admit that you're right, but as I wrote yesterday, I don't have the tools to build a proper metal barrel. It already took me 2 hours just to bend the skullcap and anyhow I had to add Bondo to smooth the surface. So I think a proper wooden body will look better than an improper metal body.

It worked well with his nose and his horns so why not try it on the body?  ;)

Ps.: His arms and legs will at least have a metal core again.  :D

These.. except better. And with legs. (I'm a failure at drawing leggy-poses)
I suppose the folded arms might be hard to construct.. but I really have no idea. Just a couple suggestions, since you seem to be at a loss.

Thanks for your drawings! I really like the first one! This might be it! It's like 80 % perfect ... But unfortunately you're right. The folded arms might indeed be a problem so I changed your drawing a bit and added a trident and his tail. (I hope you don't mind.) What do you think? (Especially sick pickles as this pose was mostly your idea.  :) )

Hah, excellent. I really like it. Also a huge improvement on my drawing. :)
I dunno though, his non-trident arm seems a little limp in comparison to the rest of him, but I'm not really sure what it should be doing. What do you think?

What are you making his tail out of, anyhow?
(I'm so excciiiiitedd..)

The tail won't be a problem I think. I already got a small and round (bendable) steel rod for this.

About the other arm .... no idea.  :D

(Little) update:

I improved the body barrels a bit and connected them.

Tomorrow I'll visit the hardware store (again ...) to look for something to cover his "neck", "spine", arms and legs with to create that "flexible metal tube" look.

That's a pretty good idea actually! I'll check my local hardware store for that. This could really look awesome!  :)

Ps.: On second thoughts I'm not sure if the distance between the two body barrels is correct. It's 3 cm at the moment. Looking at it I think that's a bit too much. Perhaps 2,5 cm would be better ..: What do you think?

From the angle of the image, it is hard to gage the proportionate distance between the body canisters, but it looks to me that they need to be a bit closer together.

Yeah right!

Ok, I changed it. The distance is now 2,5 cm and it looks much better! :)

(Pictures with the next update!)

PS.: Update

16mm flexible plastic tube. Looks better than I expected.

Is the distance ok now?

In most pictures his legs are the same length as his body, so I'd shorten em a tad. You will have fun with the footcups, I wager.

It seems to be an artifact of human perception to make the limbs a mite too long.
Therefore, for sake of 'proportions' reference:

Yes I did and yes you're all right.  :) I'll use the same length for his legs and his body. This will also reduce the problem with the "statics" a bit. :)
