Also the devil (if you believe in that sort of thing) had goat horns.

Of course, he/it never did before the middle ages. That's when Christians began depicting Lucifer with horns and goat's hindquarters - because the Pagans had held to their worship of the Horned God (which appears thus). By turning their God into the Devil, the Christians were able to more easily eradicate the old ways.
It's either the Dark Wizards or the Pagans. Christians are great about blaming others for their problems.

Also, you didn't have to get pissy about what SpaceCase said, LobsterMooch. You don't think it's possible that it might have been joking?

When SpaceCase says it then I'll believe it. But monkeys will fly out of my ass when that happens.

it

I think SpaceCase is female, deliberate obfuscation notwithstanding. She talks like a girl. She walks like a girl. She's a girl, until sufficient evidence to the contrary is brought to light.

And she's never not joking.

Also, Mooch gets pissy at everything.

I know that Mooch gets pissy at everything but you'd think that just once someone could say something without him thinking taking it seriously and having a big tantrum over essentially nothing.

As for SpaceCase being a girl: There are no girls on the Internet.*

*Disclaimer for LobsterMooch: Please try to understand that I wasn't trying to insult you with this remark. I'm sure there are girls on the Internet.

Actually, since he's making a model of the Robot Devil, it would be more realistic to make the horns out of metal... You know, because he's a robot... And so he's made out of metal...

Thank you. You make my point for me.
Although, plastic might be easier to work with...

Also, you didn't have to get pissy about what SpaceCase said, LobsterMooch.

And once again.

... monkeys will fly out of my ass...

You must have excellent health insurance.

I think SpaceCase is female...

I choose to believe what I was programmed to believe.

And she's never not joking.

[Groucho Marx]But in Mooch's case, I'll make an exception...[/Groucho]

Also, Mooch gets pissy at everything.

Oh. What a shock.

I'll just...ooze... back out under the door now...

About the only way I can think of making them would be from pottery clay. Roll out cones and then bend on its axis. Forming the cone around a centered soft wire armature may help the bending the cone into a curved horn easier and more uniform. If you know some people into pottery and ceramics they might be able to help you out. You'd probably want to fire the horns to harden them which means you'd also have to model the horns oversize to allow for shrinkage. Most US towns have pottery and ceramic hobby groups and craft stores that might be able to direct you to kiln time.

Might be easier than buying a CNC machine.

I decided to make them out of wood ... or at least try it. I think that's the only possible way.

Good news everyone ...

I finally managed to build the horns! They are made out of wood and it took me 2 hours to make both of them.

Special thanks to "Rüdi Koch" for giving me the advice to use wood.  ;)

Ps.: They both ARE the same size! I have no idea why the left one looks bigger on the picture.  :hmpf:

I just wanted to add the final layer of paint but it started to rain 10 minutes ago, which is a problem because I have to paint him on the balcony.

... I'll add it tomorrow so I can paint the teeth and mount the horns on friday.

Ps.: I still don't know which facial expression I should give him. I'm planning to make exchangeable eyes but I don't know how ...

Something like: http://www.custom-magnets.com/ink-jet-magnet-sheets.htm

Should be trimable with scissors or X-acto & straight edge.

Point of clarification:
Unless I've missed something, Bender-1729 has not told us what type of metal he's using.
Magnetic decals would be, essentially, useless on aluminum, for example.

I'll just... ooze... back out under the shop door now...

No, he's made out of ordinary steel so that's actually a very good idea! I'll just have to find something like this here in germany.  :)

Ps.: It's raining again ...
