Something has started to go terribly wrong for the crew here. I'm not 100% on what it is yet - any ideas? :) (yet another pic I started without a clear idea of what I actually wanted to draw...  :hmpf:)

Yeah, I thought you'd like that Freako. Laser revolver. Takes six photon cartridges. Completely stupid. But awesome.

Sentient oppressed rods of nitroglycerine and gelignite about to release their trapped molecules explosively it is then :D (they disguised themselves as popsicles and corn dogs).

Another jealousy-inducing pic, coldy!

Coldy, your picture looks rather "complete" for a mere sketch. That must have been quite the phone call!

A double-action laser revolver--even more retro-cool.  I'm guessing if you even half-tried, your Leela would come out lovely but I note you've given Leela a longer face than you usually do--quite attractive.  I assume if you kept working on this, you would you add the lower lashes and other touch ups but would you keep this face or shorten it a little and round it out?

I guess. That's the first time I've drawn her in a long while. Bit rusty. The longer face was happenstance, but it does look a bit better, doesn't it? I'll note that.

Thanks.

Here are several older art items I've done (with varying levels of success).

This was a pop-art project I'd done for an art class some years ago. It's a panel from a random comic book (I think it was a Fantastic Four comic and the subject is the Thing in some sort of radiation suit or something). It turned out decently, I suppose, but how did I mess up the text alignment and consistency so badly? Did I not have a ruler?

This was my attempt at recreating this Futurama promo image from "The Honking."
Bender looks good, but everything else is off-model, my brush strokes aren't great, the moon is misshapen, the moonlight is ugly and unblended, the cloud in the upper-right corner is somehow not straight, and for some reason in my hurry to frame the silly thing I forgot to put the black outlines on.

This was last year's attempt to make a pop-art version of this picture.
It didn't turn out perfectly (Drusilla's face in particular isn't quite drawn right), but still it ended up being a cool piece to look at.

I'll admit that there was verbal instruciton about brush strokes and such for this one, but the design and execution were mine and I am rather happy with how this turned out.

This is a  July 2009 rework & embellishment in Deviant Art by Rainingcrow (Dani Lebeaux, a talented woman in the US  who does some fanart but little futurama) of the 2007 work, collaboration and rework by Javis (Javier Burgos Arroyo) also on Deviant.  This latter piece has been downloaded over a half million times since its inclusion.

I think Kif looks a bit too menacing. The rest acutally look pretty good unlike that other picture. Hermes especially looks spot on.

Apart from the cartoony brain slug, Hermes looks the part, and Amy and Leela look spot on.

On the other hand, Fry needs to look a little more weedy and needs to slouch a bit, Bender looks weird, the Professor doesn't look anywhere near old enough, and Zapp needs a smarmy grin.

Nice work, Coldy and Marcus. "Attack of the sentient popsicles" sounds innately Futurama. :)

But what is up with this thread? I come back and it's 25% furry, 55% not-futurama and 20% futurama.. not the best of ratios. :hmpf:

Well, it is the general art thread...unless your disappointment has more to do with that relatively large percentage of furries you mentioned...
