Cacoethes Publishing is offering a pre-order of my first novel, Silhouettes, on their website. It's available in print and e-book format.

I'm ordering some print copies to use as drink coasters.

Hey Coldy! Good to see you're still alive. Hasn't quite been as interesting since you left. Ralph is filling in for you where Ben and the clown are concerned but still...

Aww, well I hope that one day you will decide to come back. The interesting quotient has gone down since you left. Indeed it has.

Damned Joel, I was going to start a thread and place a link for you.  You beat me to it.

I will buy a copy later this week (making sure the bank account is in a positive state).

I hope you become filthy rich extremely wealthy.

Well hello Joel!
Great to see you here again. What's all this then? Plaudits about the novel. Excellent. I have to agree with Bf... Too many people are gone or hardly post anymore.

I'm not much good on chat rooms like this, since I don't have much to chat about.

Balls.
I don't remember you ever having much of a problem with that.
Do come back.  Or stay.  Whichever.

Sorry, I got excited. I just noticed that the publish date is in the middle of next year, so that's a long pre-order. But on the plus side, they've decided to use my cover design.

km73  Marcus, Unlucky, Archie - thanks guys. The novel was actually complete three or four years ago, I've just been trying to find a publisher since.

You're right. Oh well, the lower one's expectations are, the more frequently they are pleasently surprised.

The conversion rate changed (again) the day or two after I paid for it, and I could have got it for at least $1 less. When you're rich you have to buy my a Chomp to make up for that.
 :)
Almost a year before I receive it though. It better be as good as it was before. *shakes fist* And I hope I still live at this address...

Hm, a restaurant. What kind?

Also, what's a Chomp?
When you become a wealthy patrician you should buy several monocles.  And some swords.

Meanwhile, the one that's on there now is your cover design too? - it was a different one the other day. Extra props for that. It's very.. stark.
Nice summation of the plot too.
Really glad you were able to finally find a publisher.

The kind of restaurant where people dine. It's classy. Situated on a golf resort. Wealthy bastards and bastardettes frequent it. Sometimes arriving in personal helicopters. Oh how I loathe them.

A Chomp is a chocolate/caramel bar which retails in Australia for a buck.

Monocles aren't my thing, but I do enjoy pocket-watches. Swords I already have.

Yes, it's a stark cover design. It shows the main character silhouetted in profile. Silhouetted, because the title of the novel is 'Silhouettes'. Clever, eh? Eh? Not many people pick up on that. :)

I was worried my blurb was a bit too Hollywood and I considered doing one with a more tongue-in-cheek vibe, but the publisher obviously liked the first one.

Depends how rich you are. If you reach a certain lever you're required to wear a monocle. The level after that is a bowl haircut.

 Personal helicopters? Oh, okay, then you can just steal their monocles.  (Or pocket-watches).
And one can never have too many swords.

Yeah, the synopsis is dramatic, to be sure; but it reads pretty much like any 'professional' blurblet like that that I've seen. So of course they liked it.  Sounds like you succeeded in weaving in most of the plot elements.
(I suppose).
