El, you're just too damned talented.
I sit in awe and jealousy of your artistic abilities - that insigna looks good enough for me to have cast and made as a hood ornament for one of my Corvettes.
Hey, waitaminute! I just may have that done!

Well, screw down my diodes and call me Frank. I think you guys are right - I googled the Ferrari logo again, and most of the images that popped up just had the SF on them. Except the one I chose. Torgo - I could but I'd have to redo the entire image... I did find some larger images of the logo, though. All right, let's have a show of hands, who wants it bigger? You know, many moons ago, I got some embroided cloth badges made for our paintball team - I can see various PEELers wanting one of this, but it's probably not feasible to do if we're scattered all over the planet. Now that would be cool...

It's been a long time since I've done any real artwork. Here are a few drawings that I've managed over the past ten months. No special attention has been made to detail.. I should try to focus on getting back into drawing... All empires inevitably return to the dust from which they came... Nothing here could be conceived as spectacular in any way, nor relevant to any topic on this board.. But it's all I got. =) -Mark

Marcus, your absence must have been spent practicing. By God, both pics are stand-alone great. Together they tell a story without having to resort to a single word. In case you didn't get the idea: I freaking love them!

Now for some mediocre "art" from yours truly. Yes... I draw like a five year old. It looks pretty good to me.

Corvus that is great. You draw vastly better than I do so you must be doning something right. Then again dead salmon draw better than I do but still...

Thanks for all the feedback! Makes posting stuff all worthwhile. And Tyraniak - heh! I was actually thinking of a 3rd panel, where an enraged Leela lifts her arm to show the skeezy (and heavily bruised) marketing man her scrupulously clean-shaven armpits - but figured it was a bit too close to that Zoidberg/stink gland bit... I can't take a compliment, Ralph, so I'll just say thank you very much Delighted you like 'em, and as for the notion of a short, no-words 'comic'... funny you should mention it, but been playing with the idea, if I can decide between scenarios (and whether/how much rudeness - and ergo which sites - to try for...!). Heya Wu Yeah, the hologramming was a step too complex to do in this pic. Agree with your transparancy idea, and I was kicking myself when I realised I'd done nothing 'behind' Leela we could see through her. Tried a basic green-tones/green glow thing, but it just looked like L. was hulking out... @ Corvus: hurrah, you return! And thanks for the kind words. Swedish primary schooling must really concentrate on art... Pic is good - proportions especially are bang on on-model, almost all lining is smooth and confident (bar feet and boot-straps), gun and smoke look _great_, and Leela herself... I can see there are 'scaffolding' lines, and that's about the only real clue this wasn't a trace/scan job. She's dead-on - you've got her down. If you're wanting criticism too, I think it's the right arm that's a bit ropey. From that angle, I think you should see the base of her thumb, the forearm might start a little thicker and taper down to the wrist, and the Wristamajig needs to taper too, like the boots following the curve of her calves. For hyper-criticism, _maybe_ the right knee isn't quite on - I _think_ the outer thigh line's what's causing that. But these things are _not_ obvious, they're not what jumps out at you when you first see the pic! You just get and come away with the happy of a really well executed Leela pic Background and 'backstory' would be awesome, btw! I'm projecting, but I see a bank in ruins, rubble and smoke, a wall collapsed and looking out onto a street scene, a cowering bank manager... Leela's come to discuss that mortgage application... (N.B. why, yes, irl I _am_ going to my bank in my lunch break on Monday, how did you know...?!)

@ tyraniak: Thanks! @ Ralph Snart: Thanks! It looks pretty good to me.
There.. fixed it for you. @ km73: Thank you, I can agree that I definitely caught her expression but deftly!? (I actually had to look that word up... ) @Frisco17: Thank you. Great, eh? I haven't seen your art so I can't say if you are better than me or not. @Marcus: No problem, your art is great! Primary school? Nope, I've learned to draw on my own. No formal art classes what so ever. I tried to take art classes but I soon realized the futility in that respect; I didn't get it so I quit. I'm actually a bit surprised that my proportions are right... that is some thing I usually have troubles with. Heh, scaffolding lines eh? Never heard that expression but yes there were plenty of those. Thanks for the criticism, I'll have a look at it and see if I can't "improve" things. Background and back story?? As for background, err... no, I can't draw that yet. I was pondering if I should try and draw Fry just behind Leela looking scared but I abandon that idea seeing just how difficult it would be for me to do that. I'll add the caption; Rayguns don't kill aliens, Leela does and possibly some severed alien tentacles/arms/legs at her feet... maybe. @ aknightofni: Thanks! Next? Yep, you might be. @ El-Man; Far from mediocre? Well, compared to what others here have contribute with I would say so... Ink and color? I started but I noticed details that hadn't come out right (other than what Marcus pointed out in his comment above) so I put that on hold until I can give the original sketch some more work.

Marcus, Futz gives excellent examples of Futurama holograms, but I feel that your pic is fantastic and doesn't need to be "fixed".
I like it just the way it is.

(Cheers, Zed! You say all the right things... ) Agree with Ralph (bows) that there's an awesumnal set of hologrammatic ideas from Futz and El Man (many thanks, guys) to go along with Wu's earlier one; I hadn't thought of adding noise to the hologram with a texturiser or thin-lining, quite looking forward to giving that a go! It'd work best if I come up with a new pic that revolves around a hologram; current pic rather had the idea shoehorned in quite late in the process. @ El - dried blood? Heh, idea fits! Unfortunately no - it's coffee. I wasn't happy with the composition of the pic (I have a bizarre compulsion to always draw characters full length, which gets old fast) and had to crop a lot off the bottom - including the coffee cup. Laziness left the staining in! Owl hole or some generic officey props would have better 'dressed' the background.
