Glad everyone likes it. :)

Before it gets made into an avatar, lemme clean it up first. Like I said, it was only a quickie. Smooth the background shading, do better highlights, etc. Would something be preferable to 'SJ Entrez' (is that a J, a T, or an F?) at the bottom, f'r instance?

I don't know maybe TL.

Okay, here it is. Am much happier with this, the highlights are better, the background is smoother, the letters are 'T L', and I made her tail look nicer. I also made the background white as it stands out better. All those who want to avatar-ize this, feel free.

My first pic to be made into an avatar, how cool is that? :D

El, you're just too damned talented.

I sit in awe and jealousy of your artistic abilities - that insigna looks good enough for me to have cast and made as a hood ornament for one of my Corvettes.

Hey, waitaminute!  I just may have that done!

Just by-the-by, the original letters were S and F, for Scuderia Ferrari ;) [/F1nerd]
The Evila pic is also pretty darn cool too.

Love seeing your pics Marcus :D

Spasibo, Zed85. Perhaps you could tell me, what does the 'ENTREZ' mean?

I'm not sure, Entrez doesn't normally appear on the logo, I think it may be a watermark

Great job on the remake El-Man! :D

It's now my av over at TLZ.

The thought came to me when I was doing some work on the 1/24 scale Ferrari F430 kit in my workshop the other day.

Can you make it a little bigger? I want to print it out, to tack up over my workbench! ;) :D

Well, screw down my diodes and call me Frank. I think you guys are right - I googled the Ferrari logo again, and most of the images that popped up just had the SF on them. Except the one I chose.

Torgo - I could but I'd have to redo the entire image... I did find some larger images of the logo, though. All right, let's have a show of hands, who wants it bigger?

You know, many moons ago, I got some embroided cloth badges made for our paintball team - I can see various PEELers wanting one of this, but it's probably not feasible to do if we're scattered all over the planet.

Now that would be cool...

It's been a long time since I've done any real artwork.

Here are a few drawings that I've managed over the past ten months. No special attention has been made to detail.. I should try to focus on getting back into drawing...

I've been making myself some backgrounds, in keeping with my "Sly-Fox" character signatures I did earlier.

Behold: :)

They look better at 1680x1050, my desktop size; which is what I originally made them for. Wall-E + a paint job and some ears = Fox-E  :flirt:

Also if you've not seen it yet, it's good movie :D

A new pic for the last page of Gen. Art  - colouration of a draft, and a follow-up pic. I expect to be called a liar (:p ), but my favourite bits of these pics are the hands - my rust-removal is continuing! (the marketing manager's shirt irritatingly conceals a pretty well-drawn 'clutching' hand...)

There's been quite a lot of laziness in production values - I couldn't get a workable hologrammy-look for the first Leela, didn't bother blurring the ship in the 2nd window for distance/glass, there's still convenient foreground objects/cropping over tough-to-draw bits etc. - but as a trial, it's not bad...
...or _is_ it? Well, comments and opinions are as welcome as ever, and thanks for looking :)

Very nice work.

It did set me thinking of how to get a hologram look to work and my photoshop trikery only got me so far. The only real thing I can think of is to put something directly behind the hologram Leela (a projector perhaps) to help the illusion of transparancy that a hologram would have.

Thanks for all the feedback! Makes posting stuff all worthwhile. And Tyraniak - heh! I was actually thinking of a 3rd panel, where an enraged Leela lifts her arm to show the skeezy (and heavily bruised) marketing man her scrupulously clean-shaven armpits - but figured it was a bit too close to that Zoidberg/stink gland bit... ;)

I can't take a compliment, Ralph, so I'll just say thank you very much :) Delighted you like 'em, and as for the notion of a short, no-words 'comic'... funny you should mention it, but been playing with the idea, if I can decide between scenarios (and whether/how much rudeness - and ergo which sites - to try for...!).

Heya Wu :D Yeah, the hologramming was a step too complex to do in this pic. Agree with your transparancy idea, and I was kicking myself when I realised I'd done nothing 'behind' Leela we could see through her. Tried a basic green-tones/green glow thing, but it just looked like L. was hulking out...

@ Corvus: hurrah, you return! :D And thanks for the kind words.

Swedish primary schooling must really concentrate on art... Pic is good - proportions especially are bang on on-model, almost all lining is smooth and confident (bar feet and boot-straps), gun and smoke look _great_, and Leela herself... I can see there are 'scaffolding' lines, and that's about the only real clue this wasn't a trace/scan job. She's dead-on - you've got her down.

If you're wanting criticism too, I think it's the right arm that's a bit ropey. From that angle, I think you should see the base of her thumb, the forearm might start a little thicker and taper down to the wrist, and the Wristamajig needs to taper too, like the boots following the curve of her calves. For hyper-criticism, _maybe_ the right knee isn't quite on - I _think_ the outer thigh line's what's causing that. But these things are _not_ obvious, they're not what jumps out at you when you first see the pic! You just get and come away with the happy of a really well executed Leela pic :)

Background and 'backstory' would be awesome, btw! I'm projecting, but I see a bank in ruins, rubble and smoke, a wall collapsed and looking out onto a street scene, a cowering bank manager... Leela's come to discuss that mortgage application...

(N.B. why, yes, irl I _am_ going to my bank in my lunch break on Monday, how did you know...?!)

How many of those holograms do you suppose Fry has?

Marcus: Ah, the final versions. Nice! As for hologrammy-ness, like Wu said, partial transparency, and you could try alternating thin horizontal lines of lightness and darkness, like scan lines on a B&W TV. And is that dried blood on the wall skirting? :)

Corvus: FAR from mediocre. Gonna finish it with ink and colour?

@ tyraniak: Thanks!

@ Ralph Snart: Thanks!

There.. fixed it for you. :p

@ km73: Thank you, I can agree that I definitely caught her expression but deftly!? (I actually had to look that word up...  )

@Frisco17: Thank you. Great, eh? I haven't seen your art so I can't say if you are better than me or not. :p

@Marcus: No problem, your art is great!

Primary school? Nope, I've learned to draw on my own. No formal art classes what so ever. I tried to take art classes but I soon realized the futility in that respect; I didn't get it so I quit.

I'm actually a bit surprised that my proportions are right... that is some thing I usually have troubles with. Heh, scaffolding lines eh? Never heard that expression but yes there were plenty of those.

Thanks for the criticism, I'll have a look at it and see if I can't "improve" things.

Background and back story?? As for background, err... no, I can't draw that yet. I was pondering if I should try and draw Fry just behind Leela looking scared but I abandon that idea seeing just how difficult it would be for me to do that. I'll add the caption; Rayguns don't kill aliens, Leela does and possibly some severed alien tentacles/arms/legs at her feet... maybe.

@ aknightofni: Thanks! Next? Yep, you might be. :D

@ El-Man; Far from mediocre? Well, compared to what others here have contribute with I would say so... Ink and color? I started but I noticed details that hadn't come out right (other than what Marcus pointed out in his comment above) so I put that on hold until I can give the original sketch some more work.

That's because it doesn't really exist. The only are I can do is editing pictures that are already done. All of those are for my NS stuff so you probably wouldn't have seen them.

Marcus: Futurama tends to keep holographs fairly simple and show them as projections in air from devices. So in this scene you could have nude Leela just floating in the air without the screens on the wall. Add a little Photoshop noise and tint to a color of your choice. Projection beam appears to be optional.

(Cheers, Zed! You say all the right things... :D )

Agree with Ralph (bows) that there's an awesumnal set of hologrammatic ideas from Futz and El Man (many thanks, guys) to go along with Wu's earlier one; I hadn't thought of adding noise to the hologram with a texturiser or thin-lining, quite looking forward to giving that a go! It'd work best if I come up with a new pic that revolves around a hologram; current pic rather had the idea shoehorned in quite late in the process.

@ El - dried blood? Heh, idea fits! Unfortunately no - it's coffee. I wasn't happy with the composition of the pic (I have a bizarre compulsion to always draw characters full length, which gets old fast) and had to crop a lot off the bottom - including the coffee cup. Laziness left the staining in! Owl hole or some generic officey props would have better 'dressed' the background.
