I've not been doing very much drawing recently - writing and work get in the way - but I  managed to squeeze off this. Brace yoruselves...

Explaination: The shape of a skull is pretty obviously going to affect how a face looks. If you've got one big huge eye it's going to seriously squish the rest if your features around, especially the nose, which gets very squashed underneath it. I reckoned this squashing would result in a widening of the nasal passages to make up for the lack of height, but it's also reduce the length a great deal, meaning you'd end up with a very broad, flat nose underneath that huge eye.

The profile view is actually too far in that direction. Also her eye is protruding just a leetle bit too much... from the side, though, she looks flat. From the front Chris (my wife) reckons she actually looks quite nice from the front.

Anyway there's a fairly good approximation of what a cyclops would actually look like in real life.

Neat... I used to want to be a pilot. Oh well.

I got hold of the "creature creator" from Spore today and had a play around with it. I am going to love this game when it comes out. It's so versatile...

Anyway.

Can you guess who it is yet? ;D

Also the picture of how a cyclopse would look in real life is cool. Great work.

Those are great, Archonix!  I am impressed, especially, by the Leela anatomical skull drawing.  It really does give an idea of what a cyclops would look like.

Oh, he had one of his yearly meltdowns in OffTopic a couple of weeks ago.  Part of it was his own fault for some of the inflamatory posts he made earlier in the year, so some people took the opportunity to pelt him with them as he and Ben were going Mano-a-Mano.  Then he lashed out at VF (never a good thing to do even when she's in a good mood, and I don't think she was that night).  I even made a post telling him to walk away from the computer and chill out.  After that he started to demand that VF ban him.  I don't think that she did but at that point I wouldn't have held it against her or any other mod if they did bop him on the head with the banstick.

I've had people in e-mail asking why I defend him and what do I see in him.  For that night, he's on his own - he stupidly let Ben and other shitstirrers get under his skin and Joel knows better than to let that happen.  There have been other times I have defended him because I felt he was being treated wrong.

As for what I see in him - he has mor raw talent in his fingers than almost 95%+ of the membership of this board.  He's a very good, almost great writer.  He's a great, self-trained artist.  Granted it's his own style and that may be a hinderance in the world of cartoons, animation and comic strips, his work is damned good.

He has never failed to answer any of my e-mails and has often asked how the wife-person is doing.  Besides, other than his occasional meltdowns (which I wonder if alchohol is involved) he does make some insightful and thought-provoking posts.

Hopefully he'll come back when he's calmer and the real life headaches he's dealing with are better controlled.

Besides, his e-mail address is in his profile.  If anyone wants to ask himquestions, I've found him to be quite courteous when he returns messages.

Oh it's one of those. Well I hope he cools off after a while and comes back. I've grown rather fond of the little psycho. (I mean that in the best possible way.) As far as people like Ben and a certain clown are concerned I just kinda look down at them and laugh. I guess you could say it's pity for them really. Pity and contempt. Mostly I just try not to get into anything with anybody on here. It just isn't worth the trouble.

Well I'll stop hijacking Archonix's thread now.

Kryten now makes the term, "I want a piece of horsemeat," take on a totally different and disturbing meaning.

C'mon dude, she's half-horse!  I'm sure that kind of activity is illegal in all 50 states!

Funny, you're the third trans-Atlantic friend who has mentioned that to me in the past 24 hours.  I guess even foreigners know the USA has 50 states, not 57 like Barack Obama states.

Ah, the wonders of a Presidential Campaign year.

Ahh, yes.  That is so Fry.   One just hopes the horse part on top is a miniature horse, other wise it will be heavier than the girl part of the bottom (which is probably how it would turn out, horses having very heavy head and shoulders that might outweigh the girl parts so the poor creature could not even walk upright without a cart). Kiss your fantasies good bye.    But then again, as the Chinese proverb goes, May you get cursed with exactly what you wished for....

I love the Archonix centaur and like she has the longer shirt- it fits with some of the fantasy I have been reading about centaurs.  They use the extra space for pockets to stow away arrowheads and bowstrings and stuff and junk.  If you used Archonix's model, you would have a nice, well cut, close fitting sexy jacket with lots of pockets that also was very practical for a military minded critter like your average centaur.
