Just a few things. I do like the shadding style but I am not sure on the definition of Leela's jaw line, jsut seems to make Leela's head take an odd shape (might just be me though).

Well that's partially down to me really having no idea where to put the jaw line  :p

Second is the feltrums. It just seems to me that Amy;s in particular looks quite wide and deep giving more of an ape like appreance to that part of the mouth.

I had to look up feltrums to be honest, but now I see what you mean - ish. You're probably right - I'm just wandering whether I drew her entire head to wide...

Well those where just minor thing.

Just a query or two. What program and technique are you using? as it seems (epscially on Leela's eye) there are stong angular lines (ie Leela iris seems to be an octohedron rather than purely circular).

Well, first one is simple - Photoshop, same as always...well not always, but same as I have been for quite a while - I'm just really exploring its limits now  :D
Second - technique? I'm not sure what you mean, especially with angular lines - iris being octahedronal -

Anyway they do look nice and hope to see more.

Well let's hope so  :p

Well I can now see why you may be confused about teh iris thing. My own fault really, seems that when I clicked the link imageshack rescaled the image causing pixalation (clciking teh pic reduced said pixalation)

I can understand that drawing a jaw line is damn hard for these character design. Perhaps have it run slightly lower from the ear and lower down the neck to give the perception of chin.

Also, yeah whoops about teh feltrum, only reason I knew what it is was because of an advert many years ago (I think it was a BT advert).

Yet again, nice work.

Oh wow, there's a message to warn me off bumping threads...

Well anyway, whatever happened to the General Art thread? Everyone had their own art threads now I just wanted to be popular...

 :p

Basically I was inspired by Thunderbird's STALKER fanart to come up with my own. I think his is more imaginative and better for the fact it was done with pencil and wasn't horribly rushed like mine, but I've done my own interpretation on the roles I could see the characters in (for the sake of it...of course...)

<click pic for larger size (and more explaination...)>

While I'm here I realised there's a few pics I haven't shown here.

Hope you likes :D

The stalker one,, I'm impressed with, given how fast you say you completed each of those pictures. I wish I was that fast. :)

All fantastic. It's nice to see you posting art again.

Also I like how hooker Leela's wearing the Yermakova jacket.

Cheers very much y'all :D

@Archo - The process was fairly simple actually. It basically consisted of doodling a rough outline of the characters then blurring them into a form with shading and detail - adding more lines to define them when necessary. It was all done in monochrome, then I just added colour with a single layer - set on "colour" mode or "overlay". Quick and cheerful way of doing it :)

@Frisco - Actually I based her appearance on how she looks in Futurama Comic #7, though I could draw Yermakova in that jacket if you want? ;)

Wow, thanks for the very kind words Books, I really appreciate them :)
Personally I don't see myself as the best here, I mean I still look up to Archonix as one example and recognise other people are stronger in certain areas than I am, but I am very honoured and humbled when someone thinks that I am among the best here :)

If you ever want to learn how to draw very scribbly sketches, I'm definitely your man. ;)

The colour on this last one is very impressive, not to mention evocative. Very shiny and heaty...

I thought it was the same jacket from on of the pictures of her from the DROOP wiki. My mistake. Now that you mention it I do remember that from the comic.

btw, what's the story behind the second image?  Is the text from a fic, or something?  Minus the Skynrd, I mean?

Cheers very much for the nice comments everyone, really glad you liked them! :D
There's no real story behind the second pic to be honest, soylentOrange - I just thought of Leela in a nice, elaborate dress (involving feathers though I can't remember why that idea popped in my head) but I always knew that it would be set against some great disappointment - so the text is just background for the picture itself :)
Though I guess it does work as a mini-fanfic.

Gee, I've finally posted some Futurama fan-fiction! And it's quite short! Who needs huge, years-to-write-but-not-even-finished-yet stories that are... *goes and checks* ...currently 237 pages long... Oh dear... o_0

TWO-HUNDRED-THIRTY-SEVEN PAGES!

Two-hundred-thirty-seven pages?

Wow!
That's amazing, astounding, ASTONISHING even!

You pared almost one-hundred-forty pages from it?

Zedders, that is truly a hurculean accomplishment! Congratulations!  ;)
I'll just, ah... ooze back out under the door now...

Ah nonononono..., it's 140 odd pages less because I'm not finished yet. Comparing the stage I'm at right now with the first draft it's roughly 70,000 words longer! :D

Cheers very much happyvampyre :)

Fry1077 - oh you!

Nipples eh? You know I've never drawn Futurama nipples, shall we say? Usually they'd have one of Mikhail T Kalashnikov's contraptions in front of them. But thinking just now I may make a change.

A Lawnmower! Now there's a thought! :D
