Hi, everyone. I'm new to the forum, but have been a Futurama fan for many years now. Anyway, to the point, I'm working on a soundtrack for the show (fan-made, unfortunately). I've only worked on the pilot so far, but tell me what you all think?

I hope this thread is in the right forum and not against any rules, but I though you all might enjoy listening to it (especially once I complete it).

I know it's copyrighted material, but...anyway, I just wanted to share it with all of you.

That's kinda cool.  How did you seperate the background audio from the characters' voices and the sound effects?

Welcome to the forum!
Might I suggest you read the FAQ?

I'm sure there's some way a computer can do it just like on high-tech stereos.

I've added a few more tracks.

It's an annoying process and completely depends upon how the original material was mixed together. But, here's how I do it:

I play the episode via PowerDVD, choose the French language track and set the PowerDVD audio settings to only export the rear channel(s) (I played around with it until I could remove the vocals/sound effects almost completely).

I then record what I need with Goldwave and then choose REDUCE VOCALS from the EDIT menu and I then clean up what I need to.

It's not overly complicated, but takes quite a bit of time. It's not 100%, but I think that it sounds pretty good.

Well, the only way it'd be absolutely perfect is with some bigass expensive equipment. But then again, I've heard a lot get by those too...   :hmpf: It's great that you've found something to enjoy and spend time on and have fun with it. I think with your editing, it's better than the soundclips I own...(my friend got me some clips of songs and some quotes from random Futurama sites and made a CD for my B-day last year. it's only 30 minutes, but I love it. I named it the Futurama/ Simpsons Crossover Crisis since it has a bit of both shows on it.)

Yeah it sounds very good for something done without professional equipment.  I might have to look into doing that myself.  I make computer games and often times use sound effects from movies in them.  Trouble is there's almost always somebody talking or music playing at the same time so most of the good SFX are ruined.  That technique of yours might help with that...

Wow that sites great, well done mate, they are the songs you would like to save and listen to in the future from the episodes, I have bookmarked the site myself and am downloading loads   ;) keep up the good work and I will be looking forward to more good songs you have retrieved from the show!
