Some Artwork from the New Girl

Hey everyone! I'm new here at PEEL, and I thought I'd share some of my "Futurama" artwork with you all. I drew Fry and Leela in their regular Groening style just to see if I could do it...and then I drew them again in my own style. (Smaller versions of my "modified" Fry and Leela are in my signature.)

Let me know what you think. Hopefully I'll find time to draw some of the other characters. I'd have some difficulty drawing Zoidberg and Bender in a more "realistic" style, though--they're best left as they are. Although, I may attempt drawing them anyway

Woah, they're heaps good. I wish i could draw like that! Very reminiscent of some of Femjesse's work. Great stuff.

I bet the scanner mangled the pencil tones, though, didn't it? Mine does that too, even though it's a good one...

Some very nice coloring you have done there..

Very impressive.. in the "modified" pics (Such as Modified Fry) I really like they way you've used pencil coloring to emphasis details in clothing, hair and skin texture. Very nice indeed.

Would love to see your take on zoidberg and Bender.

Man-wich and Blane--that is quite a compliment, thank you! I found femjesse's work on DA quite a while ago, and she is extremely talented.

and El-Man--yeah, my scanner notoriously mangles color tones. Constantly. Sometimes I try to fiddle around with the contrast and brightness/darkeness of the images in Photoshop, but the color quality is never even half as good as the original drawing itself.

Well, trying to figure this out, I went back and looked at the settings on my scanner (a Microtek Scanmaker 4800) again. The Photoshop TWAIN software has both RGB colour and RGB (48-bit) colour listed as an input type. So I tried the 48-bit on a pencil pic I scanned before - and it was an immediate improvement. More accurate colour, better tonal range. It's 48-bit scans for all colour pencil pics from now on...

First off CitizenNumber3, welcome to PEEL!  Second, I really love you artwork, and it reminds me of FemJesse's a lot. Keep it coming! The pencil work is really quite phenominal!
