Well, all you gotta do to work one is
1. Put picture on scanner glass area 2. Look for the button on it that says "scan" or if it doesn't have one that points out the obvious, the "scan" button is usually the only one on there. 3. If you don't have a button, look for the program on your computer. it would be in the small icons area next to your computer's clock. Hover over all of them and read them. It'll usually tell you if it's a scanning program in it's name 4. Click the icon and hit "scan" on your screen. You can usually change what settings (how it scans the picture and it's color quality) are active. I suggest "magazine" to be your choice. If it's a newer one, like an HP, not like a Microtek like mine, which is OLD, you don't have a choice. It scans really good quality pics, and manages to make them JPG, which usually sucks, but it scans way to big..
