No, those pictures already have an obvious focus. I just want a background.

EDIT: I stand heavily corrected:

Yeah, but Lenin is bald AND cool. I think that gives him the edge. Not many people can pull off baldness.

My dad can't

Hey, that signature is great! And for me it is all the greater since you accepted my advice on the background! Comrade Greeting Card with V.I. Lenin himself... I bet this team would have been able to spread communism a good deal farther! Cower, capitalist dogs, for the commie dream team has finally arrived...

Chrys, just noticed your website. Interested in the good ol' Byzantine Empire are ya?

Yes indeedy... I used to be a fan of Imperial Rome, but realized that most people are, so I shifted my interest to the less known parts of Roman history most people aren't even aware of, since the Eastern Roman Empire is usually not even mentioned in the more common history books. You might hear a little something about Justinian's conquests, and if you're lucky you hear about the Fall of Constantinople in 1453, but this is about it. Byzantium is a more obscure branch of history and very interesting because it doesn't compare with most common knowledge about the Middle Ages, Byzantium was to a certain extent always a world of its own. Very rewarding field, this.

Funny, that's exactly how I discovered the Byzantines. Definitely one of the best eras of world history.

I always found it ironic that history books neglected to mention an Empire that was around in one form or another for a 1000 years...

I completely lost track of the Romans due to school being shite.

Shame I don't speak, what I'm guessing, is German.

Nice layout on the site though Chrys!

Thanks... maybe I should do an English version some day as I spend quite some time on English boards. But German is a beautiful language, the tongue of poets, thinkers and scientists (and regrettably of some of the most evil bastards history has seen). As far as I know, the German language has the largest vocabulary of all languages, making it very precise, which predestines it for usage in description of complicated concepts - maybe this is a reason why German philosophers and scientists have come forth in such amounts, among others, the man who invented communism - Karl Marx. I wonder if he would have published his books if he had known how they would be misused...

An afterthought: for use as a signature, maybe Comrade Greeting Card could reside on Lenin's shoulder in the other picture as well? Somehow I think it would look even better than the first one, the whole picture has more energy. I will see if I can find a larger version.

Edit: Got one...

That probably explains your fantastic use of English. I tip my hat to you sir.    ;)

I can see what I can do, but if you can find a bigger one, that would be great.

EDIT: Great, thanks!

EDIT2: I stuck em' through some filters, because I couldn't get it looking tasty on its own.

I like them both - the first one might hang in a museum, the second looks like one of these fake photoes from the Stalin era in which persons no longer appropriate were eradicated or other persons added...

I might do some more Comrade Greetings Card work, It's fun to work with him (if a bit fiddly).

Needless to say, I'll post it here.

@Dr.b: I tried doing Dr. Bob, but the image quality in the animation was just too bad. Sorry man. I had a really good idea too.

Oh, don't worry about it. Shame, though. What about the one on my avy (Gromit, obviously)? If text needs to be added just say "What? I can't talk because i have no mouth." or something. You'll do great, i know it.

Finished dr. b.

This took ages believe it or not:

Its because the original had Wallace and Gromit smack bang in the center of it. I re-made the terrain and sky accordingly.

I can make one with a quote if you want, but I might be a while because of coursework, my fan-fic and another comrade greetings card picture.

Its a bitch ain't it? Your in the same year as me I think, so I know how bad it is. And they save it all up until two months before your GCSE's so you are in constant panic with deadlines flying past.

yeah man, the week after next basically all my homework is due in aswell as end of unit tests. I've still got about 17000 words worth of assignments, speechs, worksheets and topic reviews lef to do which = a big -_______-

I'm in a free period at the moment and i've got a free last period so i'll be home a bit earlier so i'll try and make some time to waste in photoshop =D I also want to make a new sig for myself because i made my current one before i re-aquainted myself with photoshop so it's kind of dodgy. I'll either make a new 'that guy' one or just scan and touch up my current one.

17000 words? Ouch!
Good luck dude.

I might have a go at a "That Guy" one at some point as well.

And I have a fantastic idea for a series of comic strips inspired by the website dr. b posted earlier!

That AND my fic I'm still doing. I read Shiny's thread and thought I'd have a go in the same format. I've nearly finished the first chapter so I'll post it in a new thread sometime soon.

More off-topic and even more shameless self-promotion: I just viewed the statistic for my own fan fiction for comparison, and it had 27085 words - AND it only took me six days to write. Obviously no one of you ever needed to write a lawyer's exam in Germany... worse than three days of constant artillery barrage. You need to write eight tests with five hours each during two weeks... either you learn to love writing with this, or you really loathe it once you're done. I guess I must like it... and I didn't even mention the oral test you have to take last, eight hours of living hell.

Back to topic: I am eager to see more work along the lines of Comrade Greeting Card. What about placing him between Marx and Engels? Perhaps on a picture like this:

the 17000 words isn't just all off the top of my head essay writing, a lot of it is horrible sheets with 100+ questions, with most of it needing research to answer. Plus, writing a fanfic is fun so you can just sit there for ages writing it.
