This is the first one ive done with the background scanned properly. It took a fair bit longer than others ive done, and i also used a size 3 pixel brush. I this is is probably my best one so far, so comments please! Edit: accidently posted the original framgrab as opposed to the scan! Silly me.

I think i'll definately do my scans in a similar fashion from now on. It's more time consuming but it looks way better in the end. Much cleaner aswell. Plus any little slip ups arn't as noticable as they were with the huge brush i was using before =P
Thanks for the comments guys! ^-^

I've almost finished one as we speak! I'm doing an easy Zapp one, because i've never scanned him before, but after that im thinking of doing Leela in her cryogenics uniform or something from I, roommate or maby even parasites lost.
If no-one replies to this comment ill probably just edit it depending on how far down the list it is, so check back soon!

Here's the Zapp one finished: I gave up on the teeth, i tried about 12 times to get them right but they still ended up looking weird. @THJ: Next, ill either grab one from parasites lost or do one from SP3K of leela in her cryogenics uniform. I'll end up doing both, but it just depends which order i do them in =D As. for now, im going to get on with the avalanche of economics and business studies homework waiting for me.

@THJ: For my next scan, i think i'll either do this one from Parasites Lost: Or, if i can enlarge this one or get a higher resolution version of it, i might scan this grab from Insane in the Mainframe: Both are good, but the one from parasites lost has a bit more detail in the background which always makes a scan look better. Although those flowers are going to be a bitch! @soylentOrange: Yup, i love my futurama phone wallpapers. It's been great since i got my new phone and i can just transfer all sorts of media from my computer to it, via a usb cable. I put my phone in my scanner (haha) and tried to get a pic of it. The phone came out allright, but the screen came out in black and white for obvious reasons. Here's the ultra crappy low quality pic of my phone: And yes, i do have a green phone randomly enough. Like i said before, if you or anyone else has the same data transfer capabilities as me, just let me know your preffered resolution and i'll resize whichever ones you want to fit your screen. I'll get to work on a new batch for myself in the near future and i'll add them to my photo bucket account soon after.

Haha, you haven't seen mine soylent!
Good choices Blane.
That parasites grab is very unusual for the Futurama gang, it looks like its through Fry's eyes and they never do shots like that...

Thanks for all the support guys! I was going to start and possibly finish my next scan tonight, but some stupid teacher at my school gave me a morning detention so i have to wake up at 6:15am so it looks like im going to try and get an early night. Add senior homework to that equasion and your looking at one boring night. Just thought i'd keep you guys posted on the ultra exciting events that going on in my life. I'll probably have time tomorrow arvo to fire up photoshop. So either tomorrow night or the next afternoon ill have one done (hopefully!) Once again, thanks for all the comments guys and girls! I really appriciate it. Edit: Ive done the basic outline of most things tonight, but those flowers are giving me hell! Their going to be a nightmare to colour aswell.

@SoylentO: Funny you should mention it, i dont know if it was just because i had to get up at 6 this morning but i now have a stupid cold. The other week i went to the docter because for no reason my whole body just ached like i'd just done a tri-athlon and supposodly the virus going around at the moment starts like that. Then after a few days i feel fine, and then i get sick. What a lame virus. The getting sick part just had to happen today didnt it? making an already suck day even worse. Hopefully i'll feel better in a few days, right now i'm all drugged up with medicine. Anyway, the main reason im posting is to get peoples opinion on the flowers ive tried to scan. Thats the best i can be bothered doing right now and i'll probably tweak them a little more before the big colour. note: Any similarity to actual flowers would be really cool.

@Glasses: I haven't sharpened them at all. I used a 3 pixel brush with flow and opacity at 100%. Sometimes, after the entire outline is complete, i'll effects>sharpen everything once, or maby twice depending on how it looks, but any more than that and the lines look much too cartoony and it looks like i scanned it in flash. Also when sharpened too much, although the lines look more solid as an outline, when everything is done, all the little imperfections show up; it becomes more visible that curves are actually a lot of little straight lines and any little bumps or jogs that you made also stick out more, as you can see on most of my first scans. If your still having trouble, just check the things i mentions above such as width, flow and opacity, but if their alright, see what it looks like after everything is coloured as the little semi-transparent pixel become solid and the lines will become thicker anyway.
@TriggerHappyJim: Once again, thanks! It was quite a struggle getting them to even remotely look like what they should do, due to all the lines being very close together, the colours being similar and the fact that my moniter, although 19" sucks some serious balls, and is ridiculously dark. I have my brightness and contrast all the way up, my colour levels maxed, and adobe gamma running, and i still can't differentiate between dark colours. A dark grey, such as Leela's pants just looks black to me. I recently inherited some money from some random iv'e never met in my life, and a computer upgrade is definetly on my list of things to get (i haven't had any hardware added since i bought the thing like 3 or 4 years ago except for a stick of ram, mostly due to my fear of actually opening my case haha. As far as hardware goes i'm practically hopeless). I should get the remainder of the outline done tonight and possibly some colour. I'll keep you posted.

The colour's almost finished. A couple of time i made the mistake (anyone whos scanned before will probably know what i'm talking about) of inverting the background to get a better look at the outlines and then forgetting to select the scan layer, so i'll put in 15 minutes work and realise that ive been scribbling on the background and its been a total waste of time. *sigh*
Anyway, it should be done soon, but i did make a promise to myself that i'd get some study in now for my legal test tomorrow so i best do that before finsihing it off. I hope it turns out alright; the flowers still look dodgy, so i'll try and fix them up before posting. Unless someones comments, ill just edit this post so check back soon!
PS: As usual, all comments are graciously thanked!

It's finally done! It turned out pretty good, not as good as i hoped, but still good. Let me know what you think, and any ideas you have for my next one. This is the first scan in which i've used gradients. The sky is one, as are the clouds. There are also others on various buildings, which i think look good.

There was no cleavage line in the original grab! You made me panic and open photoshop for nothing!
you can post your scan here if you don't want to open your own thread, im always interested to see how other people do them because i basically just taught myself, so i don't know how conventional my method is.
