Tempted to put the drabble here, but I only wrote it for the picture, so... yes.

Quote
Fry had concluded, long ago, that he could never love anyone the way he loved Leela.  It was that confidence, certainty, which pushed him to perpetually pursue her.  The trial had been exhausting, but she ultimately returned his affection.  He refused to disappoint her.  His devotion was hers alone.  No one else could claim it.

Until
she entered his life.

In one moment, she caught his eye, his heart.  Conventions shattered as a philosophy shifted to accommodate a startling exception that begged him to share.  And he wanted to.

He was breaking his most honored oath.

He didn’t really care.

Ok, maternal instincts can STFU now plzktnx.

*wonders in with one art*

Really like the look of that, Officer 1BDI   :D

First Leela pic from me in quite a while. No idea when the next one's coming so don't bother getting any hopes up...
Inspiration here should be blatantly obvious - so much so I've tatooed it on her arm...the setting is inspired by a cutseen.

Anatomy and proprosion...can't even spell the bloody word...all probably shot to hell so my apologies. Hope you likes anyway.

Bye.

Zed, your art never fails to impress.  There are a few errors, as you admitted yourself, but the attention to detail and the excellent light/shading are fantastic.

Spacedal: Glad I dragged you over to the dark side, albeit temporarily.   ;)

Incidentally, you may want to avoid the colored version.

Well someone mentioned on another board a litte while back that while Leela looked sexy in her toon form but would she look good more realistically. Thought I had not done some art in a fair while so i thought I would take up that challenge.

Here is the lined version, will need a few more tweaks before I colour it but I think it seems ok so fair.

any critiques are welcome

excuse the double post bust since I had no critiques i jsut went and coloured it. Just so you now I only added the clothes line in the line version because I know some people here are scared of nudyness. But after doing all the coloring for the complete nude version.....it seems like a waste of my time to put clothes over them. However it does pain me to do it I will present a censored version.

Tried a new method for doing the hair, seems ok but I know I need to practice it more.

Well hope you like

I liked!   :D

You know how much I favour your shading techniques, so I won't go on about them again; but I'm _really_ impressed by the little details that came out when you coloured/shaded. Hands and fingers are immensely good, and you even got the fingernails to work! Massive kudos.

Interested in the 'natural' style you used in drawing her face; reminds me of King of the Hill (in a good way), a much less 'cartoony' cartoon than Groeningism. Is her head just a bit small given the length of her body, though? And I think you could have 'bulked up' her wristamajig, made it a little more 'massive' - it looks like it's painted on to her wrist, not a device worn on top of it.

I like the background - I know it's quite simple, but it's very effective, doesn't distract or detract from the character, either in colour or complexity, but it gives the eye something to compare her to. Not sure about the effects of the hair; perhaps more refining needed, as you say, the texture of the hair on her head looks more like textured wallpaper. The texturing on the ponytail itself though looks very good, so mibbe you're on to something, right enough!   :)

A realistically drawn, smexy Leela? I think so! A lovely face, well-proportioned shoulders and arms, smooth curve of waist into hip, and lines and shading combine to produce one _hell_ of a set of knockers  :p

Well done!

Great to see you drawing again, btw   :) Inspires others to have a go when see an old fanart hero such as yourself putting mouse to pad again   :D

Thanks alot, I do hate doing hands (bare feet I find are worse) so I am happy with how they turned out. Hmm the head might be a little smaller now I think about it but hopefully it still works. I will be honest the wrist-a-majig was kind of an after thought, but you are rirgh it could be chunkier.

The hair technique is something I saw in a photoshop tutorial, which he made look so easy. Certainly something I will try again though.

Glad to hear you maybe doing some more fan art, be nice to see some more of your renditions of Leela and Amy.

By way of turnabout, and wanting to be as cool as Wu...

...a Futurama meets James Bond effort!  :D

Fry gets to be Jimmy B., and Leela and Amy star as the 2 central Bond Girls... they both seem to be gunning for _someone_, but who's trying to off Bond and who's just trying to get off with him...  :p

Any opinions/comments very welcome, as ever  :)

Only a couple of friends have seen this pic so far, and it's the very last one I have in cold storage... anything else I wind up posting will be a fresh 'un!  :)

I think I've seen that picture before, Marcus, but I'm not quite sure from where (TFM, perhaps?).  Still as awesome as always (although I also question why Fry has Bender's arm).

And I like the siggy, Mattador.  Simple, but effective.  :)

I don't know what the hell prompted me to draw this.  I've been sitting with my notebook open in front of me, for literally hours on end all weekend, because I felt like drawing something, but nothing was really coming to mind.  And then this hit me a few hours ago and I just ran with it.

Now it's 4:45 am in (Old) New York and I have no idea why I'm still up.  I'm not quite sure why they're still up, either.

No, I agree, some of the proportions are off and certain limbs look really odd to me.  I'm still trying to figure out what needs fixing and what just "seems" odd because of the angles/poses I used.  Critiques are more than welcome.

The legs look a bit odd and Fry's right arm looks a bit "detached". Now, I'm far from being a real artist (working on it) so don't rely to much on my critique.  Get a second opinion!

Speaking of art, I took a peek at your Deviant art gallery. Very nice, really like your Future OddParents. Hilarious!    :D

Hehe, "Future OddParents" is probably my most popular picture. :P

I went through and "redlined" (if you can even call it that) the picture.  I shortened both right legs and touched up the left legs.  Phil's arm is still giving me hell, but I think I'm just going to bring it closer to his body and adjust his upper arm a bit.

Is there anything else I should tweak before I attempt to ink this?

As far as I can tell it looks great as it is now. I don't think there is much more to tweak.

Btw, what do you use when you ink? Pigment liners? A steel pen nib? A brush?

I use "ink" in the loosest of terms (and probably in the incorrect context altogether).  I (re)line and color almost all of my pictures in Paint Shop Pro; my hands aren't quite steady enough yet to ink a picture with something more permanant.

And thanks for pointing out those errors, Corvus.   :)

ETA: Finals start next week for me, so I might not actually get back to this picture until mid-June.  :(

Ah. Well, I use Paint Shop Pro for that too. Though I am trying to learn how to Ink by hand.

I'm of the school of thought that you don't have to consider yourself an "artist" to be able to point out what looks funny in a piece of art.  ;)

(And I'm sure your work is better than you're letting on, but for the life of me I can't find an example of anything you've drawn....)

Gazellington: Kick-ass!  And welcome to PEEL.  :)   Out of curiosity: is Leela's outfit inspired by anything in particular?

You can't find an example of anything I've drawn?

No wonder, you see, I have posted a couple of my drawings here on PEEL on occasion but I have removed them from  my online gallery since then.

Mostly due to bad self esteem but also due to the fact that people apparently steal art and tries to pass it off as their own.

It wasn't really inspired by anything, I just thought it would look nice. In my opinion, Leela looks really weird. Something just dosen't feel "right". But whatever, I'll draw something else in a little while.

It seems to me that Leela's leg is far too long, but other than that great work!
