Oh no, there's another Aurora Fry? I swear I didn't know. Where's the fanfic? I want to read it for myself. If what happened to Aurora Fry is as sad as I think it is, I'll change my character's name. Thank for lettin me know.

OMFG. That fic may have topped Jurassic Bark. I need to change her name. There were others I was considering neways. I chose Aurora bcause it was the prettiest name for a heavenly phenomenon I could find (and Nova was taken). It was really sweet, in the story, when Fry explained who Aurora was but couldn't remember her name. Precious. There are tons of websites where you can make dolls and save them to your paint program, and elouai.com, where I made the doll formerly known as Aurora, is one of the best. It's originally Korean, and it has more outfits and accessories than you would believe. There are also boy dolls and a bedroom maker. I highly recommend you guys check it out!!

I also like Sidra (Latin for "star child" ) and Danica (Slavic for "morning star" ). Astraea (Greek goddess of innocence and justice) is another name I was considering, but I'm not sure of the pronunciation. Actually, my fanfic will focus primarily on the new character and an adventure she has. It'll also touch on her relationship w/her parents. When her name was Aurora, I decided that Fry would call her Rory, bcause it takes less effort to say!!

So what you're saying is that I should primarily refer to her as Rory?

What would be wrong w/calling Andromeda Andie? Is it too guy-ish? In high school I knew about four Andreas who were called Andie for short.

Miranda is a moon of Uranus, I believe. The same planet Umbrielle revolves around!!
I could see her as being Miranda Fry. It's a very feminine name.

Aubrey, i'd probably try for something a little less male. Rory is a guy name. And sine Aurora has already been used you might want to try something no one has used yet. Not really. I mean what about Rory on Gilmore Girls? (I know stupid example but still). But I kind of think I know what Venus is saying. Male names are my kind of thing, but they don't really have to be yours Aubrey. You need to find your own name. And personally I like unique names. Not like Jennifer and Ashley lets say. Cassie, not my personal favorite. But I like Anna, I like Ann better though. My suggestion is look at the character. Look at her personality and see if the name goes with it. I mean when I wrote my shippy-baby fic, the reason why I named their daughter Randy was because I thought of her as a weird, rebelious girl (No you don't see that in the story but that's what I was thinking). And if your character is more normal-girlie like then Miranda would be a better name. I just saw Venus's last post. She basically said everything that I just said, .

You could also call her "Mira" for short...and make puns on "mirror." But Mandy's good. (Anyway, you wouldn't want to use "Randy," because there are British people on this list, and "randy" means something slightly naughty in British slang... ) I even thought "Rory" was good (I kinda like boys names for girls, too... ) But wouldn't her full name be "Turanga Miranda Fry?"

Would anyone like to know how I made the red streak in Miranda's hair?

Originally posted by Venus: Why would her first name be Turanga? Turanga is Leela's "last" name and usually the woman's surname isn't passed along. That is one thing that I've wondered. If Leela marries, I can see her taking the husband's last name, and she'd keep the Turanga part, (Turanga Leela Fry, for example), but would she share the surname Turanga with her offspring? Kinda strange - shows that I don't have a whole lot to worry about today.

I don't know. If she named her child w/just Fry's name, she wouldn't have the "mutant" tag. Is that the sequence of all mutant names, or is it a family thing?
Miranda's hair was one of my first ventures into re-pixelation. I just painted the strand of hair over w/shades of orange (the original hairdo being all purple). Basically, Miranda is supposed to resemble Leela except for having Fry's green eyes and the birthmark that made the red streak in her hair.

My wife is Irish (born in Dublin in 1969), She has red hair, green eyes and the Irish temper to boot. The only Irish stereotype that she doesn't have is that she doesn't drink alcohol (but I do!). Even her name is completely Irish - Kelly Coleen.
