I’m glad you won the award. You really deserve it for all the effort you put in your fic. (It’s one off the best Fanfic I ever read.)

It will be some time before Venus does an update - I heard that she's flying to Great Britain to razz Fazeshift for not winning a PEELie or having a thread go for 21 pages.

Don't they automatically lock at 20 pages? I guess a moderator really likes your fan-fic, but if you're going to continue your fan-fic after 21(+?) pages, better get that next thread underway!

There is some mysterious idea on PEEL that forum software cannot handle more than 20 pages.

It probably was so in PEEL 1, because that was written by drunken wizards.  But Small Machine Forums may be written by wizards, but damn if they are sober.

Also, machines got better over time.  More CPU, more harddrives MORE IO!

A few threads that were more than 20 pages crashed PEEL1 so the 20 page limit was created. The main reason it was kept in PEEL2 was to force people to keep coming up with new thread names.

An older forum I used to go to had that enforcement when it slowed down the whole site.  Which was usually around 10,000 replies to a single topic.  Which was about 200 pages or more.

The only problem I have with 20 pages limit is that the last page of a topic is often just meta posts.  And meta posts are often only funny on occasion and other times completely worthless.  Forcing meta posts is not a good thing in my mind.
