Arty Farty Technical Problemski!

OK so how do you guys get the screengrabs? I have a whole stack of futurama RealMovies and every time I try to do a "capture" from a paused RealMovie it screws up, just giving me a pink screen. Also I'd just like to know what sort of packages people here use to do their computer art. My personal favourite package is Fractal Designs Painter 5, because it's got some nice fat painty-style brushes in it. Other than that I either use acrylics or pen/ink.

I use the mpegs for framegrabs (or steal them from the framegrabs-section here at CGEF) The realvideos don't have enough detail for me.
Try using HypersnapDX from www.hyperionics.com  to get rid of that pink screen.
And as for what software to use, i swear by Photoshop and Illustrator. Not really the most artistic programs, but i like them.

tried hypersnap - still get the same results only it's a BLACK screen instead of a pink one now. Ah well, guess I'll just have to do things the hard way!

Thats strange. Ive been trying to replicate the problem here and it works just fine. No matter if I grab in fullscren or a window. Are you using the latest version of real-player? Have you tried turning off the optimized video display in the preferences?
im just guessing here.

I've tried all sorts. I guess I'll just have to stop getting the realvideos down and start downloading the whopping great MPEGS.

Either that or just steal from the screenshots archive.

Or better still, not steal the pics at all and just draw original stuff like my other two pics...! Yeah, that works for me!
