There's a new contest for you fanscript writing fellas in Fryscape (the Futurama-based adventure game, if you haven't heard). Basically, write the major plot for the game. Winner gets to see his plot (and his name in the credits for it), and his character appearing in the game!
I know this should be in the websites section, but it only appeals to the script writing guys like you! (and Tweek said it's ok).

so check it out at http://futuramagame.insanitysquared.dk.
Sorry if it sounds a little bit like an ad. Post your comments, questions, etc. here.

What if you don't end up with a good enough plot by the closing date? :-O
I'm sure this won't be the case though, we Futurama fans know our stuff...

If it does, we'd either make it close later (depends on our work schedule), or just close it saying nobody won. Winning this thing won't be easy. Not only you're competing with other people, you have to please JBERGES, and worse - me. Ask anyone of the developers, I am a real perfectionist.

Wait...why doesn't JB just write it?  He's the best scriptwriter on this entire board.  Or are you looking for something more epic and less episodic?

Yeah, I am working on the script, Nerd-o, kinda.  (Layla, you flatter me as usual.)  Idan and I have written the first level or so... but we don't exactly know where to go with the plot.  Idan decided on this contest because we're sure other people out there have grand ideas that are eluding us at the moment.

If worst comes to worst, I'm sure us two will figure something out, but it's nice to see what other people have. Layla, I implore you to give this a shot, I'm sure it'll be great.

Layla, I'm not sure whether you decided to join up from your post...but you should.  No one, and I mean no one outside of the show's actual staff, does better characterization than you.  Hell, you're better (at least, more consistent) than some of them.  And then there's the dramatic sensibility, the ability to multiplot...Idan, you want this girl on your side, assuming she's willing.

Other reccomendations, so I don't sound like an infatuated fanboy:
Tongue Luck: Best sense of humor ever.  Plus, she can make sure that there's nothing over-the-top dramtic written by Layla or
Kenneth White: Need an epic?  Yo.
BumbleBeeTheta: If he/she is alive anymore, this person's responsible for some great old-school (as in, before I joined PEEL) shippy, and has a fine style.
Speaking of Old School, you guys should tap
Kryten: Best episode fanscript ever (The Fault, Dear Leela) and a nice body of other works.

You know what?  I'm going to stop nominating people, since I assume they'll all run by this thread anyway, and this way I can leave people out without feeling too bad (i.e. this is not a complete list.)

EDIT:

How bout we just pitch simple ideas to you, Idan. Then you can just play around with it since you're the one who is going to determine how you want the final project to turn out. I'm definately interested in helping you come up with ideas for the game, just tell me the basic idea of the game from the demo you guys made and I'll work from that.

Sense of humor? Pfft, I laugh indiscriminately at everything I see. Sort of like Nerd-o and sucking up.  :p

Random, undeserved burns aside, it sounds like mass fun, but I doubt I'd be of any help.

Well... I personally have enough trouble writing my own stuff... what with "A Past With No Future" taking a while and another idea in the works to follow that.

However, I did have an idea a while ago I knew I'd never get around to writing that may be able to be utilised, though whether it would fit in with what you've got so far I don't know.

Basically, there's been one kind of baby food over the past 200 years that's been dominating the market to Microsoft proportions. The owner of the company did so by making it not only addictive and cheaper, but he also put a special ingredient that would allow him to control the minds of all those who had eaten it. Since the company has been around for so long, that pretty much means the entire population of Earth, and the main villain (whoever it is...) decides to finally control his Earth slaves to build an army of massive proportions. However, since Fry was from the past, he of course never ate it. And somehow, Leela is also immune to it due to her mutant genes. The two must then find a way to counter the hypnosis before Earth's population is assembled and sent to battle on another planet.

Again, not sure if it would work. Not even sure if it's that good. But, well... it's there for the taking. As long as my name appears somewhere of course  :)
