Well, I'll try to use filefactory.com as suggested after I get back from work. The file itself is around 25MB (including the opening movie and JBERGES' amazing soundtrack... which I still hum once in a while). I'm defenitely up for such a project if people wanna join... if I'll be all alone though, it won't be worth the while... unless people would like playing Futurama ASCII DOS games because thats as far as my programming and art skills would get me...

Ok everybody, I uploaded the build and it can be found here: http://www.filefactory.com/file/70ddf9/ Please note that this was not the demo, it is in fact a build of the game further down the development. It includes 4 more rooms (though interaction with objects was not added) and still lacked a few things. I think this is a testimony that some things can be achieved, and its all thanks to the great work of everyone in the team (many of them are PEELers!). If we would have continued working on it around these days everyone would have been able to play a full-blown Futurama quest (if it wouldn't have been shut down by a Fox C&D). Ofcourse, comments on the work we all did is always welcome.

I think an adventure game was quite a goal - since, as you say, everything should be hand drawn and there are so many screens. If a new developing group would be form I think it is best to start in something which take much less art to create - for example a Futurama pinball game with lots of depth (much like Space Cadet). This is, ofcourse, just an example. It doesn't have to be pinball...

Hey, I remember this. Goooood times.
You still have my permission to use Future Guy as the intro music.
I'm still kinda proud of that song, and I wouldnt want it to rot away in my catalogue of original songs...

Its not just "my" game. A lot of people, and other PEELers, are responsible for it.

@soylentOrange: This has been one of the two original threads about Fryscape last time we did the project, and I believe this is the proper forum for it. It is, after all, "fan created". I think a project can start with a few dedicated (and talented) graphic designers and programmers. Thats the two "positions" which are the greatest bottlenecks for such a project. If we'll have these, I don't believe there will be a problem getting more people to help with the music (JBERGES!), design (JBERGES!) and plot (JBERGES!).
@Fry1077: Ehh.. I'll assume you are offering yourself as a graphics designer? (I hope). Anyways, check your Gmail.

Alena! Where did you disappear to?
I don't know how sprites and walkcycles would fit the new "type" of game I'm pushing for... its not an adventure game anymore... that is simply... too much work for now. But graphic designers are defenitely welcome. Especially you!

Fascinating... To see this side of Leela. I mean, usually she's all uptight and strict. But, we all know she's no better than those other two. (You know, like that 'as long as I get to hurt people' line in AOIII.) Eh, she's no better than them. Hee.

Real nice Zmithy! Ok, I'm getting flashbacks from the last FryScape project... I think it will be best if anyone who is interested in helping out would contact me in MSN Messenger aharoni(at)gmail.com so we could discuss things. This might not be a 1:1 recreation of what we wanted to do when we first set out to do the "project".

Uhh.. Hi! Been a while since I've posted in here and I thought "what a great way to break months/years of silence by bumping up a thread from 2006"? Anyways, I bet a lot have changed in the land of PEEL and Futurama (haven't been following, to be honest) but... I poked around my old computer and lo and behold - found some old "source files" of Fryscape. It isn't THE source file (the AGI source) but graphics, the script, etc. I think that there is also a fan-script or two in there that I worked on back in the day (too be young again... and also a nerd). Anyways, the download link is: http://kotuha.com/file/XLHRD-Futurama.html Just click on the link "Futurama" on the right.
