If these guys charge a dime for the game, fox will utterly pwn them on international copyright laws. Dammit. Right, I'm going to get somebody with a DSL connection to download it and burn it to CD for me. There's a few university students in Manchester who owe me favours. I will play this game!

Nice voices, MOle. They are creepingly funny!
Your best one is probably Zapp, who also sounds like the CBG. And your Zoidberg sounds like a mix between, well, Zoidberg and a European criminal in a movie. But hell, better than I can do. And sounds good enough to go into the game!

Wow, this project is going really well so far. I've often thought about doing a Futurama game myself (I've made these South Park games over the last 4 and a half years... I'm in no way comparing mine to yours or anything - I know it's not really the same, since this was written in actual programming code and all, while mine were just made in Click & Create, but hey - a game's a game), although a Futurama game would be a waaay to ambitious project for me. Anyway, I finally got around to downloading your demo today (having a 56k modem, I dread files this big), and I must say it's amazing. Considering that it's a fairly short demo, I won't comment on the gameplay as of yet, since I haven't seen enough of it to really make a comment. Although from what I did see, the engine is very true to the Point & Click genre, only with some typical Futurama-style humour mixed in. Definately well-appreciated. The graphics were simply great, I especially liked just how faithful to the show the set-out of the ship was. Maybe you should change the picture in the main menu, but other than that, they were absolutely lucious. And I rarely use that word... I can't comment on the sound though, since for some reason, it was "unable to initiate my audio hardware". I did watch the opening.avi file seperately after playing it, and it was pretty good. I liked the intro movie though, with the Professor giving his briefing to everyone. Once again, typical Futurama humour, which appears to be one of the core aspects of this game - and so it should be. Overall, a good solid demo, although a little on the short side. Great graphics, a good engine & a funny script... and other than the main menu picture, very professional looking. I'm looking foward to playing more of this. Good work!

alexvilagosh - as an Aussie I demand you retract your statement! To be honest with you I don't think there should be voices in the game if they aren't the real thing - it would be too distracting

Just downloaded it, the intro music is awesome (listened to it five times over), and the black and white credits suit it really well.
On to the game, I didn't think much of the title screen, it just looks weird, again good music though. The actual demo is fantastic, really funny, I hope the main game will have the level of scripting detail that has gone into this demo.

Sorry for the double post folks, but this is just an update. I've temporarly taken over the management of the project after the former project leader (Alexei) hasn't been able to do his job due to viruses, life, etc. Anyway, just wanted to tell you, that we are still searching for artists for the graphics of the game. I hope you come and join us, we got cake! (well, not really). But seriously, we hope to make it the biggest fan project of Futurama, and the development "community" is made up of great people.

The Fryscape Game was canned in early 2005. Production has ceased indefinitely.

I dont believe the game is hosted anywhere anymore... Try emailing Idan Aharoni to ask about it. He'd probably be able to give you some better answers. I was only a music developer...

A little bird whispered in my ear that this thread has been revived and I had to come by and see for myself. Oh, btw, I haven't died or anything... yet.
Anyway, I think I got the source in my parents' computer... which I'll have access to in several weeks or so. If you still want it I can send it to you then.
Well, I'm going back to my world domination plans. First stop, Estonia!

Its C, basically. With a real easy API library of the engine... I started working on the game after I haven't programmed for about 5 or 6 years (2 out of these I barely touched a computer). So, there won't be a problem in that department.
BUT, the code is finished. Well, the global code for the game, not specific rooms. That what the demo milestone was all about, finishing the global stuff of the game and beginning the work on individual rooms...
Too bad the forum is dead. We discussed the puzzles, had more rooms uploaded that I don't have in that computer and so much more... oh well... this thing has been dead for months and I won't have the time to work on it in years, so I guess this isn't much an issue to complain about.

Alenacat, I wish it was that simple. We actually had all the coding done, it was the graphics. And getting new artists who are motivated to work on the game as much as I am consumed alot of time and yielded no results. We had alot of people who wanted to join but we felt they were not up to the level of graphics that we wanted.

I didn't forget about posting the game's source. I've been to my parents' house but I forgot the USB drive so... Its roughly 35MB "uncompiled" (by the AGS) when it does not include all the stuff that was done and didn't go into the game (it was all on the website, and now forever gone). I should have it in a few weeks... sorry.

Noooo! I finally passed the "busy" times in collage and I started thinking about resurrecting the project. However, my desktop computer's HD back home has decided to die, along with it - everything Fryscape related. Oh well, I don't assume anyone of the old developers has any sources left? I don't suppose anyone wants to start out of scratch?

Actually, using AGS is just C with the engine's own APIs (and a very nice help. Even I managed to code and that says alot). About the game, I got it on my laptop (I just showed it to a coworker who apperantly is a big Futurama fan). I will upload it after I get home from work... if I'll find a proper webspace... and what I have on my laptop actually has 3 more rooms than the "official" demo had.. You can't do anything in them, but still, its better! The last time our most serious problem was lack of artists... we had a few, but eventually they got pretty scarce and the operation came close to a halt before I decided to leave (but it wasn't the reason why I left... I just started college). Anyway, if people are interested there is defenitely things we can discuss...
Also, we don't really have to make the exact same game... Even a 3D game (not a platformer), whatever. But... we'll defenitely need a mass of talented people to join whatever project we'll decide on doing... last time we had many people knocking on our doors, but (and I don't mean disrespect) were not able to reach our desired standard (yes, we had a standard).
