Evil TV?

Over the years there has been many TV shows labelled 'evil' these include faces of death and more recently bumfights. Faces of death as the name suggests has horrible footage of dead people and women being raped and then killed. The director suggests most of the footage is faked although it is unclear which parts are real and which are not. Bumfights has caused the creators to have 4 arrests and 7 felonies, they pay tramps to beat the shit out of each other or stunts such as tattooing 'bumfights' on their knuckles and head and in one scene has a tramp pulling his own teeth for some whiskey! so what do you think funny? Disgusting? Evil? Criminal?

In my opinion, people like things evil. Whether it's an evil twin on a soap-opera or being possests by the devil. Like myself I like murder mysteries and thyat kinda route. Evil is a bad thing but people like it.

with bumfights the creators have made around 8 million the tramps that star in the show are sent away with a long list of injurys and a bottle of whiskey.

8 million?! They don't deserve such success.

I admit to having some bloodlust but images of people dying like in Faces of Death or on some of the websites floating around the Internet I find deeply disturbing.

So don't go to them. I'm not going to abuse people for this, but it seems strange to me that one would stumble across a website like that by 'accident.' Well I never have. But I'm a very careful net user. Kinda. Yeeeeeeeah.

Actually Faces of Death is footage of dead people not of dying people (atleast not close up anyhow)

As for a women getting raped I cannot comment as I have only seen part one and it wasn't on that.
But as the series is about 'the different faces of death' I find it hard to believe that there is footage of that and if there is, well, thats just plain wrong.

Other than that, I found it a good eye opener.

im a media studies student and am studying the affects and aftermath many media texts have on the audience. both shows are extremely famous and they have caused such a stir having a knowledge of something doesnt mean you like it or approve of it.

 

as the series is about 'the differet faces of death' I find it hard to believe that there is footage of that

 more info on the subject

that bloke doesnt seem to think a lot of it is real, it is hard to say what is and isnt real about faces of death so they are just his opinions. and lets face it not only is he a nobody he is a bit of a freak.

Bad grammer.....

But having read all of IMDB's reviews it becomes quite easy to spot the fake footage in the first video.

Basically, anything filmed from multipul angles is very suspect.

I just read the review of all the Faces of Death (I only thought there was four, and like pokemon - gotta collect 'em all!) and there was no mention of the rape.
Or were you on about the IMDB reviews?

Of course. I guess it should've been more obvious when it said 'snuff film'.

Back to my original statement then, I've only seen the first one.
And I'm having trouble getting hold of the rest especially the fact or fiction film telling whats real and whats not.

open your eyes.  nearly all reality tv is exploitation.  "the littlest groom."?  "seriosly dude, I'm gay."?  "for love or money."?  they have this new pay-per-veiw show which is basicly ex-pro hockey stars beating the shit out of one another.
I miss the good old day of sinfeld.  everything one now is trash or boring.

That TV really is evil. Pure exploitation of "exciting" events for the "entertainment" of audiences.

Also I agree with kiffan on his post. Shoddy, shoddy tele.

Shampoo ads.

They're basically a big "fuck you!" to bald people!!

I'd often lie in bed thinking about poor FishyJeff huddled in a corner hugging his knees and sucking his thumb after seeing a particular nasty shampoo ad...
