We've watch them mainly because they are the only decent things to watch on the BBC now apart from Red Dwarf and Black Adder repeats.

Have I got News For You, despite Angus Deaton being fired the show it self has actually gotten better thanks to it's random hosts. Which I say, amuses me when William Hague or Boris turn up and argue with Ian Hislop.

Tough choice.
Its out of either Have I got News for you or Never mind the buzzcocks.

Never mind the Buzzcocks has that part of the show in which they take the piss out a line up of old people, brilliant!    :laff:

Damn it! I can't make up my mind...

...Edit, I chose.

Buzzcokcs is usually quite funny, but "Have I Got News For You" is just plain hilarious, especially, as Nurdy said, when they get Boris on the show,

HIGNFU is brilliant, not as good without angus but still a mile a head of any other show.

They're all great, it's just a real pity they aren't making any more 'It's Only TV...' shows. Otherwise, that would probably have been my fave. I voted 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' though because the guests tend to be funnier.

I stopped watching 'Have I Got News for You' and 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' when I found out that both programmes have scripts.

I've watched the all of them, and liked them all. However I'd have to choose Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Bill Bailey is brilliant.

whey you're up to date aren’t you? not that they were false accusations proved wrong about three years ago. and it would make a lot of sense to wouldn’t it? paying writers to come up with scripts? why wouldn’t they put the script writers on as hosts? also with HIGNFY makes a lot of sense to make scripts for a professional comedian and a quick-witted satirical editor...and many things that are said are quite obviously spur of the moment + its actually a hell of a lot easier to be funny on the spot than in a script....get off the spastic wagon.  :nono:

Ok, ok, maybe I have been misinformed. Maybe I'm an idiot. I apologise.

HIGNFY is scripted. Most of the cringing jokes are the scripted ones and are pretty obvious, such as the ones where they put newspaper snippets up with them. You can tell it's autocued when some of the worse presenters are on (Or when Boris is trying to read and getting confused!). However the teams aren't scripted and most of what the host says isn't.

Also, who cares as long as it makes you laugh? It wouldn't be nearly as funny if there was no scripting whatsoever. I don't think they could think up funny lines on the spot all the time.

HIGNFY then NMTB, but sometimes Jonathan Ross is ok on TTIAO, but that presenter guy annoys the crap outta me.

no no aslate, the presenter IS scripted, quite obviously...as on the show Paul and Ian used to take the piss out of Angus for just reading things out, what was accused was that the whole thing was scripted - that Paul and Ian were told what to say and were given the questions before hand. that is the lie.

Have I Got News For You is excellent, although I don't like it as much since Angus left. I love Never Mind The Buzzcocks though!  :D
