Good episode. I like the idea that almost all Stan's beliefs are based on a lie. The B-story was a little iffy, but it didn't drag down the overall episode.

Second *Totpd* of the day, with the longest goth style dance line in town.

The B-Story? Are you referring to Steve's part of the episode? Cause that was hilarious, it had me laughing out loud.

I have seen American Dad today and last week on BBC2 in the uk and I have to say that I really like this show. I think it is funnier then Family Guy.

I'm still a bit unsure about American Dad, although last night's episode did make me laugh out loud. Still prefer Family Guy at the moment though.

Meh, this week's episode was fine, but not great. I don't like the fact that women were berated (is that the right word?) and made fun of.

I have seen a couple episodes of this American Dad show. If I had not suffered so much hardship in my life already, it would have made me weep for humanity. But I am a hardened man and can not cry.

Don't worry, Stan will learn the fault of his ways in the end. It's generally how the show works. I liked this episode, my girlfriend was mortified by it.

A musical number, and a Lost reference?! This is too good to be true!

Stan: Did I just sing my way into your house?
Woman: Just take what you want and leave!
Child: Mommy, are we gonna die?
Woman: Yes we are, my daughter.

American Dad started airing in the UK 2 or so weeks ago. So far they've been pretty much shit in my opinion.

Not exactly the right place, but briefly:
The last few years i've had GCSEs, AS-Levels and A2-Levels back-to-back, with coursework for plenty of subjects. Couple that with university applications, work and all round general stuff it's kinda not been updated. Doesn't mean i've forgotten it. I've recently moved webhost and keep paying for the site, so it's not forgotten.

I've started doing a few code rewrites with other projects i've been doing (St. Olave's,Aslate.net) to keep it in my mind, but it falls behind.

There's a "The Fry Hole" topic in the Website forum somewhere if you want to talk more about it.

The show does get off to a bad start (even if I personally liked the pilot). Episode 2 is complete shit... then it begins to pick up from there.

I prefer Family Guy overall but last night's episode had me in stitches, especially the bit where Stan was trying to run over the racoon.

I believe that was the episode that AD started getting good with...

Anyways, last night's region 1 new new ep, second of the two-parter, was pretty good. Anyone else see it?
I liked Francines musical number as Stan stands in disbelief of how many Arabian laws shes breaking...
Francine: *singing* It's nice if you're a man, but if you have boobs, if you have a vagina, if you have a clitterus--
Guy: What's a clitterus?
Stan: *shrugs shoulders*
Francine: --then it's total hell living in Saudie Arabia...

......a clittoris a vulva then stay the hell away from Saudi Arabia. It was kind of funny but a bit annoying because of it's length. Not as good as part one.

Agree totally. It makes a change though for there to be something on television here that I want to watch (Other than QI, HIGNIFY, and Doctor Who )

I liked the Stan of Arabia two-parter.  The only thing I didn't like was seeing Francine chained up in jail.  I liked how Hayley beat up her boyfriend, how Steve had an 'epiphany' and became a 'prophet'.  I liked what Stan wanted to do to join Francine, and Roger talking about 90210 and Melrose Place to his 'husband'.   I also liked the fight between Francine and 'Thundercat'.

Also, at the end Roger says, "Whatever happens in Saudi Arabia, stays in Saudi Arabia!"  Kind of makes you wonder if the 'husband' discovered he was an alien or if Roger got him 'pregnant' like what happened to Steve!

Just for the record, new episode of American Dad is on this Sunday!

They don't even have seasons available for purchase in America yet, and I doubt the show would come to DVD here before it even came to television.

The pilot was put on the newer Family Guy DVD sets, but beyond that, the show hasn't hit DVD to my knowledge.  I'm excited about tonight's ep, this show has increased steadily, while Family Guy has just kind of stagnated.

If tonight's episode proved anything, it's this: Rachel McFarlane's singing voice is incredibly hot.

I just seen the best episode on BBC2 where they stayed in some Country and Francine sings that good song. I wonder when they are going a DVD box set?

I've heard a few people in this thread asking when American Dad is coming to DVD, so here's some news I think you'll be interested to hear:

Quote
From Planet American Dad:
American Dad is set for release on region 1 DVD in the US and Canada on April 25, 2006! Volume 1 will contain the first 13 episodes of the show: Pilot, Threat Levels, Stan Knows Best, Francine’s Flashback, Rodger Codger, Homeland Insecurity, Deacon Stan, Jesus Man, Bullocks to Stan, A Smith in the Hand, All About Steve, Con Heir, and Stan of Arabia (parts 1 and 2). Full details of the episodes can be found in our episode guide.

Special features will include commentries, making of featurette, animatic comparrisons, table read, deleted scenes, and more. Subtitles in English, French, and Spanish are included for the episodes. The cover artwork is shown below.

The region 1 release will be out over a month later than the region 2 DVD in the UK (which is rumoured to contain 19 episodes, that’s 6 more than the US release).

It seems like they're doing the same with Family Guy, having it released in Volumes for Region 1 and Seasons for Region 2 (since the full production season of Season 1 was 19 episodes long). Hopefully they won't do as they did with Family Guy by not putting any extras on the Region 2 & 4 releases, though. Still, the fact that it's coming out in the UK before the US is already different, so we'll just have to wait and see. I still think having different box-set episode selections between regions is a bad idea, though.

On a side note, I saw Stan of Arabia last week. Hilarious! Part 2 wasn't quite as good as Part 1, but still, American Dad just keeps getting better.  :)

Oh hoorah, America's answer to having your brains pulled out of your ears with a pair of tweezers can now be purchased fron British shelves. I can hardly contain my joy.

Why do people watch this? Having given it a fair chance, and watched most of Season One, I can honestly say that I'd rather watch Lost. Whilst it's quite as incomprehensible (yet at the same time formulaic enough to be predictable), it at least has the redeeming feature of a couple of decent looking chicks. Plus, if there's ever a finale episode where they all die horribly after making wine from the urine of a poisoned gorilla, I'm going to be watching that one over and over and over.

Bring back Firefly, you evil TV-ruining bastards! Bring back Futurama and Firefly, not this visual pile of runny turds!
