Interesting idea for a thread Espanol. Here are my answers to each

Violent: Predator

Scary: Max Shreck as Nosferatau, someone who is scary purely for the way he looks rather than the special effects that created him

Suave: Bela Lugosi's Dracula, the best portrait of the character becuase Lugosi bought out Dracula's human side.

Cool: King Kong is cool

Powerful: Sil in 'Species', she had a weapon more powerful than most in pure beauty

Most Sympathise with: Frankenstein

Best SFX: The Martians from 'Mars Attacks', they were great

Most Violent: The Passion of the Christ! (Hey, it had Satan and those evil children)

Scary: Lon Chaney  in London After Midnight

Suave: Lugosi's Dracula (Karloff did not deserve to smell my shit!)

Cool: Freddy is cool.

Powerful: Godzilla

Most Sympathise with: The Phantom of the Opera but he's not really a monster so I choose The Wolfman

Best SFX: All the creatures from The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Most Violent: Mike Tyson.

Scariest:The Bumble from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Suave: King Kong.  Anyone else grabbing Fay Wray like that would get himself slapped.

Cool: Godzilla.  Who doesn't want to be Godzilla?  Screaming any other monster's name makes you sound like a pansy, but "Godzilla" makes you sound cool, especially if your lips don't move in sync with the word.

Powerful: Godzilla.  It's pretty easy to destroy Tokyo, but to do it almost two dozen times...that takes something special.

Most sympathetic: Godzilla.  Hey, I know what it's like to grow up as a dinosaur on a remote Pacific Island only to be nuked into becoming an atomic monster.  After all, isn't there a little Godzilla inside all of us?  I'm sure there's a little of us inside of him!  *rimshot* *booing*

Best SFX: Godzilla.  I think it's safe to say Toho Pictures Ltd. has cornered the market on rubber moster suit technology.

Most Viloent: Chuckie. Dolls scare the crap out of me nuff said.

Most Scarey: Satan & any spiders. Being posest isn't one of mi main prorities neither is seeing my biggest fear.

Most Suave: The wolf-man. I'm all for wolves but for god sakes he's a walking flee bag. Wolves are too shy to go and bite people on a full moon. (Go wolves!)

Most Cool: King Kong & Godzilla tie. They both destroy Tokyo and I like the movies aren't n'sync with the wording.

Most Powerful: Satan. He can posest you. He wins over everyone here. He can kick ass.

Most sypathetic: Frankinsten. I'd be depressed too if my body parts were made from 20 different dead people.

Best SFX: Fluffy from Harry Potter. He's so cute! I love Fluffy.

Most violent: Donald Rumsfeld

Most scary: Uh, somethin' from The Shining.

Most suave: Not sure.

Most cool: Kang and Kodos

Most Powerful: Those giant worms from Dune.  Ya know, the ones George Lucas ripped off.

Most sympathetic:  Not sure.

Best SPX: Dick Cheney.

Original category, Funniest:  The demon in The Exorcist.

Most Violent: Alien, a killing machine without motivation, only instinct and violence.

Most Scary: the vampires from Fright Night used to scare the crap out of me when i was younger

Most Suave: can't think of a suave monster

Most Cool: Chucky, he has the funniest and coolest killing lines, even better than Freddy's.  Plus, he's a killer doll.

Most Powerful: Mike Myers, that man can take serious punishment, plus he's strong as hell.  I mean come on he once pushed his thumb through a man's forehead.

Most Sympathetic: I guess Jason because he was killed at a young age and it could have easily been prevented.

Best SFX: I agree with Mr. Potter, the LOTR monsters are spectacular.

Violent: Dog Alien... that's a lotta dead folk for one little critter...
Scary: The denizens of Silent Hill... especially the ones you DON'T see... <IMG SRC="http://peel.gotfuturama.com/ubb/eek.gif">
Suarve: Various incarnations of Dracula... pick your favourite.
Cool: Velociraptors and Deionychus.' Whaddaya mean they don't count?
Powerful: The Titans. Those guys had the moves! ('till they were pwned by those annoying gods... grr...)
Sympathise with: The Terminator. For all those times I've been impaled upon poles.
SFX: face it... special effects for critters tend to suck... though I'll give some props to The Thing for just being groovy.

I can;t wait until J.J. Abrams's movie flick hits theaters.  I remember seeing the trailer during the Transformers movie and it didn't even give the title.  Only that it's playing on 1/18/08.  That is good promotion, getting its audience curious and interested.

J.J. Abrams recently said that "America needs its own Godzilla".  He didn't give the title, but that should give you an idea as to what this movie is about.

I thought this was the Monster Thread.  I typed Monster and this popped up.  Technically, should that thread be erased since this thread is more general?

I also enjoyed watching THE HOST earlier this year.  When I saw 1/18/08, I quickly thought of the host for some reason.

Well, we have a general action thread, yet also have a Indiana Jones therad. If you didn't know, there's some viral marketing/ARG stuff related to Cloverfield, so discussion in that thread includes that.

Would "Manos, The Hands of Fate" count as a monster movie?
