No, actually I haven't.  Although the DVD is sitting right in front of me on my computer table, along with the other two movies.

Daughter of Darkness was the best movie 3v4r, 'specially if you were a sheltered 13 yer old with a limited anime stock at Blockbuster. The first 2 Tenchi movies were among the first anime I ever saw and my introduction to Tenchi.. Something about seeing a girl licking her father's chest and having it still LOOK PRETTY DARN SEXY made me into the sick otaku I am today.

My introduction to Tenchi was the first movie, which I saw on the Sci-Fi Channel years ago, and promptly forgot about.  I had no memory of seeing the movie when Cartoon Network showed the series, which I instantly fell in love with.  Later, I got my friend Marc hooked on Tenchi, and he found Daughter of Darkness at Blockbuster.  I was all like, oh, a daughter from the future, that's real original.  *cough*Sailor Moon R*cough*  I was way off.  Anyway, after watching it, we noticed that it said "Tenchi the Movie 2" on the box, so we tracked down the other two movies.  It wasn't until seeing the first movie again that I remembered that I had seen it before.

Okay, I'm done boring you now.  Have some more pics of Mayuka.

DoD is cute, but the L33T Tenchi fans abhore it for some reason. Maybe it interfears with there shipping mentality, whores. I like it however. Very good Group picture shots.

I don't see why it should.  There's some serious Tenchi/Ryoko shippiness in it.  It's just more subtle about it than say, Tenchi Forever.

David: 79% of Tenchi Muyo fans are morons. Look at the SI fanfiction, that really is more than enough proof.

I thought DoD was good and as David A said there were shippy moments. Like the scene on the roof. I will admit that Tenchi Foreve is still my fave but Dod was fairly good as a pretty much stand alone things (unless they translate those books)

Now I'm usually the first to start posting copious Tenchi pics but today I have other things to show.

They never show what's under his mask

Shikamaru. one lazy bastard

Some Shirow work is always good.

Now I thought these were cool.

I first watched We need Tenchi on Cartoon Network, and I've never looked back. I own all the Movies, but unfortunately I'm having difficult substituting my Toonami versions of all the series with the proper, un-edited versions. E-bay seems to be a bit short at the moment.

Awww, kawaii Kakashi... Out of the whole comic I'm probably most like Shikamaru. I'd rather be a Lee but I'm not so ambitious. MEH.
That Mr Satan d00d gave me nightmares.

Some anime show was on Cartoon Network today and I watched a little of it because I had nothing better to do. I don't get why the drawings are so detailed and quality but the animation is so utterly dreadful. When they speak there is usually two or three different lip positions that just loop over and over depending on what they are saying.

Another random thought... is there such a thing as an anime comedy/sitcom?

Most anime have such well produced soundtracks, excellent character designs, well cast voice actors and superior imagery that very little importance is placed on lip movement. Generally only theatrical movies have detailed lip movement[and most of that is lost when an anime is dubbed anyway].
Some 'sitcom' anime.. Hmm.. Well, Maison Ikkoku, Azumanga Daioh, Excel Saga[more like sitcom on crack actually, but situation comedy nonetheless] and Ranma 1/2 can be sitcom-y.

Hell yeah.  Ozor, there's anime in just about any genre that you can think of.  Depending on what you're looking for, it might be hard to find outside of Japan, but comedy certainly isn't in short supply.

In addition to the stuff EvilLunch mentioned, Tenchi Muyo! is pretty sitcomy at times, although technically, Tenchi is action/sci-fi/comedy/drama.

Anyhow, this is the picture thread, so here's a picture:

I know that not everyone likes this series, but I thought that this pic was pretty cool.

Did I mention that almost every one and every thing in Rayearth is named after (Sometimes popular) Automobiles?

It's true, as the 10-year anniversary Pitt likes Rayearth-fest continues.

Eagle Vision

Lantis

Nova

Well, the list goes on.  You've got Geo Metro, who pilots a mecca called the GTO, more mecca, like FTO, NSX, Celes, Bravada, Alpha, Seville, REGALia, Caracters like Ferio, Presea, Debonair.

It boggles the mind how many cars are in this show...Without a single car shown through the WHOLE series.

Not really. It's a Euro comic book. I think I've read over a dozen of Yoko Tsuno albums.
