You know...he's the guy who does "Fairly Oddparents" and "Danny Phantom" (which just aired its pilot here in Eastern time). What's everyone's opinion of his stuff?

I really liked Jonny Bravo before they mucked it up by putting a bunch of useless characters in. I still remember the one where Jonny (a man in his mid-twenties mind you) "got lost", and couldn't find his mother. What really made the episode was when a bunch of eskimos adopted him.  :laff: classic stuff.

I love the Fairly Odd Parents!

AJ: Vicky's totally cheating!...I mean...*looks in skateboard lingo book*...cheating!

4.5/5

Danny Phantom was pretty good, too. His parents are very messed up, though... I'm surprised that Jazz hasn't run away already...

4/5

I used to love Johnny Bravo...But then Pops and Carl came... I didn't mind Pops, but I wanted to kill Carl, and I still do.

Fairly Oddparents is a great show, especially compared to the other crap on nick. It's the only thing worth watching nowadays, (besides new Spongebob episodes, which are few and far between). I'm suprised that some of the jokes are allowed, some are clearly geared towards adults and older viewers.

How could you like FOP and NOT like Danny Phantom? Same people, same style, same kind of jokes, only a little more mature. And I'm so relating to that kid who eats meat.
EvilLunch, that was Rob Paulson? I was sure it was Tom Kenny, my bad. And methinks I heard a bit of John Dimaggio, though I might be mistaken (he's doing stuff on Disney, it's most possible)

Thank you for putting together such a well thought out argument and expressing it in an almost poetic nature in this thread. I'm was not aware that you wanted Butch Hartman to lick your testicles until you brought it to my attention. Thank-You for this information, I will use it in my biology thesis.

Fairly Oddparents is great.  I watched and episode of Danny Phantom, and although it seems like an intresting idea, I thought alot of the humor was hit and miss, but I intend to watch more and just see what happens.

Fairly Oddparents: I watched the first episode the first day it came out (as it's own Nicktoon) and I loved it.

I was sure it was Rob Paulsen. He used a slightly Yugopotamian-esque tone, a rather fitting, arrogant sound. If Billy West didn't do Zapp's voice, I'd vote for Rob to do it.
Tom Kenny is a great actor, though. Loved him as Yancy..

I just watched the two episodes of Danny Phantom from yesterday. It's pretty good, but I'm going to have to watch a few more episodes before I can form a real opinion. I think it has just the right balance of action and comedy.

I just saw Butch Hartman's newest cartoon, Crash Nebula and they start it off with Timmy Turner in his Crash Nebula costume and his Fairly Godparents try to get what the newt episode of Crash Nebula will be about.

Wanda says something about if the episode will be about Crash Nebula going back in time to the Civil War where he accidently becomes his own Great Grandfather.  Sounds like Hartman watched Futurama, he had to in order to steal a joke like that.

Doesn't sound like TOO much of a ripoff.. I watched the end of it. It was pretty good, with nice animation.. But not terribly amusing OR action packed. Sort of a 'meh' middle.

The original JB was good, but it had a very small amount of episodes.

Fairy Odd parents is great, it's where all the stupid stuff of Simpson's Series 9-14 should be.

I caught "The Fairly OddParents" initially by accident, but I instantly liked it. It's very quick and clever, and you simply must love Cosmo. Every character is useful and entertaining; Timmy's hilariously clueless parents are one of the show's best elements.

Incidentally, changing the pitch of Cosmo's voice was a great decision - the higher, more cartoon-y tone fits him perfectly. I do wish Frankie Muniz was still the voice of Chester, though. In my opinion, actor changes in animation are more irritating than in live-action.

I have a theory, I believe Danny Phantom and Crash Nebula may be Hartman's Futurama.  I'm not saying they'll be just as big as Futurama, but they may follow similar paths.  Hartman's humor is sort of similar to Groening's humor.

In Danny Phantom a love romance between Danny and Sam, they first say they are just friends, but how knows what the future will hold. Danny Phantom is very different than other nick toons.  Instead of have two episodes per show, they have one whole plot episode.

Futurama- Sophmore show of Matt Groening.
Danny Phantom- Sophmore show of Butch Hartman on nick.

Crash Nebula, will most definitely follow the path of Futurama based on what I saw on that pilot episode.  A nobody who will become a spacehero and falls in love with a female alien, where they'll meet weird aliens?  Sound familiar, only difference is that Leela turned out to be a mutant and the robot on Crash Nebula is actually a Turkey in a hovering pod.  It makes me wonder if any of Futurama's writers are writers for Crash Nebula.

The only thing that really bothers me is that Nickelodeon just won't hire new voice actors. The same guy who plays Danny Phantom plays Crash Nebula plays everyone else. It right pisses me off, because it'll attract all these DP fangirls who think the voice is sex-ay. I shudder.
And the Crash storyline was really cute, I enjoyed it, although I thought it could be longer. I loved the idea that this kid was a complete hick with such strong family ties-really different from FOP or DP. And the linework was downright sexy.
The turkey robot rules. No question. And I won't be upset if someone does an Irken homage either.

Oh, and just while I'm in this thread...if you own Abra-catastrophe, you MUST watch it with CosmoWanda commentary. FOP humor at its best. And yes, I really do own it on DVD. And when the episodes come out, I will buy them too.

I've seen a bunch of episodes of FOP, and the first few were excellent, but they got a little worse after I watched a few more and I didn't really find some of the others I saw funny. I find that teacher who constantly says "Fairy Godparents!" pretty funny though, and Cosmo (The green-haired one?) was good in all of them.

I like Fairly Oddparents quite a bit. Timmmy is a great character who reminds me of myself (I don't fairy godparents or a mean babysitter or a crackpot teacher or anything like that, though). I just saw DP for the first time today, and I thought it was pretty funny.

You know there will a theatrical FOP film coming out next year, I found info on it at http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0378946/combined

Interestingly at the IMDB board for this film, there was a post by someone asking if it was a live-action film, a reply was:

Don't get me started. Now you did.

What about a live cast for POWERPUFF GIRLS

Blossom....Drew Berrymore
Bubbles....Cameron Diaz
Buttercup....Lucy Lu
Professor Utonium....Bill Murry
along with a CGI Mojo Jojo voiced by the guy who did the cartoon one, Roger Jackson.

Or Peanuts

Jason Alexander as Charlie Brown
Rosie O Donnel as Lucy
Chris Kattan as Linus
Reese Witherspoon as Sally
Linda Cardellini as Marcie
Ellen De Generous as Perppermint Patty
Orlando Jones or Martin Lawrence as Franklin
Freddi Prince Jr or Rick Moranis as Schroder
Horatio Sans as Pigpen
With make-up by Rick Baker or Tom Savini
And a CGI (by ILM) and Animatronic (by Jim Henson's Creature Shop) versions of Snoopy (voice of Tom Kenny), Spike (voice of Jim Cummings), Olaf (voice of Brad Garret), Andy (voice of Rip Taylor), Belle (voice of E.G. Daily), plus Woodstock, along with the villain The Cat Next Door (voice of Frank Welker). This film will carry out the message: "Not your parents kind of Peanuts". Peanuts: The Movie. This film is wacky as you can't imagine.

At http://www.nick.com/all_nick/tv_supersites/display_show.jhtml?show_id=fai   if you click the Video Clips button, you'll see some deleted scenes from FOP

There was a FOP/ Jimmy Neutron crossover called the "Jimmy Timmy Power Hour", which had Timmy going to Retroville and becoming 3-D, and Jimmy going to Dimsdale and becoming 2-D. Haven't seen it yet, but it's available on DVD:

The new FOP TV movie is called "Channel Chasers" and it supposedly will have cameos by Jimmy Neutron, Tommy Pickles, SpongeBob and Rocko. It will air later this month, and the DVD will come out around October:

I saw FOP's Channel Chasers and it was most amusing.  I like how Hartman paid homage to some of the more classic cartoons; Fat Ablert, Flintstones, Tom and Jerry and such.  The funniest one was the Simpsons parody.  He hit the nail on the head when Timmy said that it was longest running show on TV and all the characters on the show were morons and it makes adults more stupider.  Parodies of Krusty, Ned Flanders and Barney Gumble proof that.

Too bad Hartman couldn't due a Futurama parody, but I doubt a large amount of people would have realized that.  DAMN FOX for not promoting Futurama more.
