Eh, I'm not a fan.

Its obvious that Chappele has talent, it really is.  But I just feel that he squanders it.  Chappelle's show to me feels like one of those shows that just tries as hard as it can be to be "edgy" and "controversial", and even the marketing (the ads of Dave reading hate mail) reflect that.  I don't think its offensive, because its to silly to be.  But I don't think its funny either, at least not consistantly.

Granted, I've only seen bits and peices, little sketches here and there.  But what I've seen ranges from "heh, that's sorta funny" to "how did this shit get on the air?".  Not only is it uneven, but the worst of it is terrible enough for me to not want to watch anymore of it.

I agree with you DoTheBartman, it tries so hard edgy that it completely fails in that department. i could see it trying to be as big as lets say South Park but i really cant see it happening. And yes the show does suck ass lol.

Last night's episode was pretty funny. The Fear Factor sketch was kind of funny but really predictable. What made the episode was the Wayne Brady sketch, though. "They cancel Wayne Brady's show and [shit] goes crazy!"

This week's episode was much better than the last one.  The Wayne Brady sketch was the best part.  The drive had me cracking up.  Chapelle took my advice and ditched the musical guest for this show.  It's so much better that way.

Every time I watch and episode of South Park that I have 'procured' I get to listen to little adverts for this show. I don't know who it is speaking but it gets really annoying now:

"FYI, bitch."

I just don't find unnecessary swearing funny.

To laugh at people swearing willy-nilly? No. I laugh mainly at the satire in the show and I am just saying that the little adverts for Chapelle's Show are annoying to me.

Well, I liked the "failed sketch ideas" episode.  Probably because I knew that the sketches were supposed to be bad and silly, it gave me leway to laugh at them.  For example, the Playa Haters back in time was one of the funniest things the show has done.  And Nelson Mandela's Boot Camp was pretty good, too.  The rest, okay.

See, now this is what I'm talking about. I'm not trying to rip on you because you're a Chapelle's Show fan(I'm a fan as well) but that phrase has been said so much it's just dead.

I love the Dave Chappelle show,
the family with the "N" word for their last name was genius, as was the blind, black, white supremist.
Also I liked when they had the internet mall sketch, and when Calvin got a job.  My favorite episode is probally when Dave quit, and Wayne Brady took over.  Then at the end they had a training day like sketch, one word to describe it, brilliant.

I hate the musical guest, the only musical number that i liked was when Dave sang the Different stroke theme.  And yes there are way to many commercial breaks.

For those of you who don't know, their showing a marathon tonight of all his episodes from the second season, I think it's 10 episodes.  It starts at pm.

Gangster 1-Did you hear? Calvin got a job.

Gangster 2-I'm proud of him.

Gangster 3-Man, let's rob that ni**er.

MMM MMM BITCH!

P.S. South Park sucks major ass compared to Chappelle Show.

Saying South Park sucks ass compared to Chapelle's Show is like saying Futurama sucks ass compared to Friends.

Great episode, especially the Black Bush skit.  The fact that you don't have to embellish the real President's actions to come up with a funny bit makes it all the better.  A little feces humor never hurts either.

Yeah, pretty good...  Why can't we get to the real issues, with everybody clouding it up with this iraq stuff, don't you people know gay people are getting married?  That's just sick.....

The episode was hilarious, especially the Buch sketch. The lil john sketch was funny too. I was worried when Dave talked about the first black man to shit in a white toilet, but that sketch was better than I thought it would be.

Awww, it's only a best-of episode... But maybe I'll see something I missed.

On a side note, has anyone played the game Skate Bored at comedycentral.com? It says you get an new clip if you win. Has anyone got it? Is it worth it?

Yes, a best of episode.  I got to see The Niggar Family and the Samual Jackson skits that I missed, which was good.  Still, I wonder why a cable show with a 13 episode (I'm assuming it's 13) season needs an episode like this.  I think all the skits shown were from this season, which makes it even lamer.  The skits were funny, but just show an actual new episode instead of this.

I'm waiting for their to be an episode that consists entirely of musical guest segments.

I think there's something in a Comedy Central contract that requires clip shows. Chappelle's Show had two, Tough Crowd has a lot, and most of the other 'big name' shows have them as well.

My prophecy, with its horrible homophone usage maintained, came true!  There was in fact a best of musical guests show within the last few weeks.  It seems most of the 2nd season is clip shows. Nice.

My next prediction is "Best of Commercials During Chapelle's Show".
