Why does Al Bundy hate having sex with Peg?

I'm a big fan of Married with Childern, but why did Al hate having sex with Peg?  She was a hotty    I wouldn't mind walkinghome to a face like that.  I'm guessing Al really was the problem in that relationship, but he is so damn funny.

It isn't that Peg is supposed to be unattractive, it's that Al is so sick of her that he can't imagine having sex with her.

I used to watch that show all the time on Sky One.
It seemed to entertain me, and teach me the ways of American audiences, who like to hoot and holler when people walk through a door.
Never got that bit though...

It's not that Al doesn't wan't to have sex with Peg; he just doesn't want to have sex.  He works hard at the shoe store all day, and when he gets home, he's tired.  All he wants to do is watch some TV and go to sleep early, but Peg won't let him.
