I'm with Just Chris and can't read.  Peggy Hill needs a kick up the bloody arse if you ask me.  Dale (or is that Rusty Shackleford?) is the funniest character on the show!

*votes for Peggy Hill*

I agree, Dale gribble is one of the coolest characters in the series. C'mon, he smokes a sig while doing fake Tai Chi. He doesn't trust computers ('cept his own) but he's funny with his conspiracy theories. (like aliens having to do something with Joseph's odd appearance)

Still, I admit that's what I really admire about the guy.

Shake easily wins this, I mean that's all his character is, it almost makes you want to hate him, but then again you remember the people he's surrounded by....

Those are all really good choices though, contrary to belief about Dale, but he definately deserves to be on that poll.  He's a cool character and in reality he has good morals, but when he gets on his high horse he shoves it's ass all over the place.  I know this from all the episodes I've seen, but the perfect example is in an episode where he gets a suit of armor.  He goes around in the suit and pisses people off just because they can't do anything to him, he was a total ass in that episode and so deserves to be on this poll...

Yes they are annoying, though I wouldnt watch Daria without the Fashion Club. Everything would be lost without. What would Quinn do about friends? What would Daria & Jane mock (besides the rest of the world)?

Face it, Daria needs the Fashion Club to strive (I know it sounds silly, but its true).

Anyway, Quinn's so-called friends may be assholes, but Quinn isn't one.  If you think that she is, then you haven't been paying attention.

Pitt, are you talking about Ron, or Harry?  Ron is the older MacDougall brother.  Harry is the younger one; the one who has the creepy obsession with Melfina.

If you're talking about Ron, then I agree with you.  Harry turned out alright in the end, though.

Well, if you would have noticed, the Fashion Club firstly recruited her as soon as she stepped out of the car on her first day. She stayed with them throughout the whole series even with ups & downs - she couldnt live without the moral support (and the odd sly remark). The Fashion Club fell apart when Sandi left, then when Quinn left - so if Quinn left the group forever (because their annoying) it would destroy the whole Club - and Quinn would only hang out with popular people but wont be supported as she was when she was in the Club. "The Three J's" - might not be asking her out anymore if she would leave the Club, because I seem to recall them being only interested in her because she's popular (if she wasnt, and she let one of them be her boyfriend, like what happened in a episode - they would soon lose interest in her from seeing how semi-shallow she is or they would screw it up somehow and make Quinn hate them - which also happened in a episode). I say she's semi-shallow because she does show some respect and willing to learn new things, and burrow into them - but is too concerned with being popular (which she was forced into).

Also, you know how much Daria & Jane hates talking about people like Kevin & Brittany for too long - just a sly remark once in a while. They would get bored of talking about them very easy.

Previewing this post makes me feel sorry for myself.

Yeah, I meant Harry!  I wnt and watched another episode and I was like DAMN  I got them mixed up.

This time around tho, when I watched it, it really looked like Harry had gottenhimself more under control the second time he met Melfina, so I guess that gives him some saving grace.

Eggsandwich, Quinn may seem shallow on the surface, but there's a lot more to her than meets the eye.  Some of the episodes from the later seasons, and the two movies especially, showed Quinn in a sympathetic light.  It's important to remember that we mostly see Quinn through Daria's eyes.  Quinn may seem like a brat (and most of the time she is), but a lot of it is just sibling rivalry.

"Shallow on the surface"?  Does that phrase even make sense?

Pitt, when I first watched Outlaw Star, I hated Harry MacDougall right up until the second to last episode.  In the end though, all that I could feel for him was pity.

David A - I'm just going to leave it as we all see different views on this, and whining at each other is not going to change another's view (We're spamming aswell - the ol' Daria thread is around here somewhere).

I'm glad to see that you love the programme as much as the next obsessed Daria fan (or even more?). Excellent statements aswell.

All of you sheep jumping on the Shake bandwagon might as well be the same people who did that TV Guide top 50 Cartoon characters poll. Just because they are the latest thing they get all the votes? I've only seen a few episodes of ATHF, and Shakes seemed like the least insane one there. He wasn't that bad...

I know I just ruffled some feathers there(puts on flak jacket) FIRE AWAY!!

Itchy got my vote but someone on page one mentioned Cartman and WHOA yes, he belongs on this poll! I don't want to hear anyone else using the typical a$$hole defense of "It isn't my fault! It was my upbringing!!)" either. Didn't Saddam use that in the South Park movie? Did you buy that too???

Itchy still wins this for me though; other the the Marge Simpson Crusader episodes I can't think of a single redeemable trait of that duplicitous, two-faced, prejudiced(against cats) little jerk, not ONE.It bears repeating, NOT ONE!! All of those others you all mention had at least ONE time they were nice of their own accord. I admit I had to think a while to find one for Cartman though.

David A: I agree with you about Harry Mcdougall but he was still pretty messed up. I hated that little weasel almost on sight.
