Eh, whatever.  Either way; as long as we've managed to turn this into yet another anime thread, I'm happy.

But hey, if your idea of the best cartoon dad is one that's good to their kids than so be it.

Well, it's not just that.  Nobuyuki is a great character in general.  He's easily as funny as any of the dads listed in your poll, except for maybe ol' Jakey.  I also like how he manages to remain completely unfazed by anything that happens.  Alien princesses show up at his house, and he invites them to stay, as if it's nothing out of the ordinary.  Nobuyuki can even be heroic, in his own way.  Anybody who's seen Tenchi the Movie knows what I'm talking about.

Surely Peter Griffin gets a bonus point for giving Chris porn?

Whether this point should be added or taken away, I leave to you!

I would agree.  I like the fact he knows that Kim saves the world, but he doesn't approve of her dating boys.  He's priceless.

I also like Peter Griffin, and the dad from American Dad was more amusing.

I also like Papa Smurf, he was a great dad and let's not forget the dad from "Bobby's World".

Sandy Jonquille Hello, Sandy Bell ! ハロー!サンディベル,小仙蒂  the lead character Sandy's Dad. That cartoon is a part of my childhood memory and I still remember today, if I decided to have a child/ children one day I will let s/he or them watch what I like when I was a kid and anything I think is good in the future production of children’s TV/movie network.

"Dad" from "The Brak Show".  Come on, his NAME is Dad...you can't get much more dad than that!  He delivers a lot of funny lines, too!

Homer Simpson. Not just beacuse he's from the Simpsons, but because he loves his kids and wife, works in the plant, even though he doesn't wanna, just so he can pay the bills, and is a nice guy all around, even if he kinda absent minded.

I voted for Homer Simpson, but I have to admit Professor Membrane from Invader Zim is pretty good too.

This is the only picture I can find of Sandy's dad; he is the guy with the moustache...(obviously)

He took care of her until he died, just before he died, at his bedside she learned the truth that her mother did not die but has been missing from an accident on a family trip on the ship.

Right before the accident happened, baby Sandy was playing with one of her mother’s earrings and that one earring was the last thing of her mother’s possessions Sandy hold in her hand. Sandy's mother got lost with Sandy and her dad during the accident. Sandy’s dad discovered this earring on Sandy’s hand after they were rescued and kept this one earring until his last breath.

He passed it on to Sandy right before he died, wishing that she will find her long lost mother someday. So her adventures begin as a reporter while she searches for her mother.
