Hopefully they will continue to make new shows, more importantly I hope they continue to be sold to the BBC. We are probably a season or two behind the States so we'll be getting "new" episodes for a while yet   :D

When i first saw Buffy, my thoughts were: Good fighting vs. bad? Didn't we have that already once?

But somehow i got hooked to it, because evil can't die ultimately...  :flirt:

There's definitely going to be a sixth season, and a seventh. So don't worry about that.

A few things first:
BBC are showing season 5 now which is the most recent season so you're not that far behind.
Season 6 starts on UPN October 2. They have bought season 6 & 7.
7 will likely be the last.
If The WB cancels Angel then UPN can automatically buy it for 2 more seasons.

Secondly, I love Buffy and I think alot of people will agree with me that Joss Whedon is an absolute genius of television, nearly as much as Matt Groening(hey! quit throwing stuff!).

Groundbreaking episodes like "The Body" and "Hush" just proved to me the reason I have a TV (accept for Futurama of course!). And Season 3 was probably one of the best drama seasons on TV in recent years.

Also, current Futurama writer Dan Vebber (who wrote the excellent Birdbot of Ice-catraz) also wrote 2 Buffy episodes including the hilarious "The Zeppo" which if you remember brilliantly reversed the usual A-B plot and focused on Xander get involved with some un-dead Jocks while the others saved the world from Hell.

Discuss that!...

Okay, if we're going the "Best Episode" route...

Best comedy: "The Zeppo".
Best emotional episode: "The Body".
Best Monster-of-the-Week episode: "Listening to Fear", just because of the "It's a killer snot-monster from Outer Space" line. Note: I have not seen "Hush".

Yawn, I'll say something I read. I read that the BBC wanted to make a spin-off about  Giles doing something  or other in England. You can all talk  about that for a while.

:puke: Bah! Giles was an ineffectual wuss. If I were him, and Buffy was pulling one of her whiny high school "I can't save the world, I've got to get ready for the prom! (Bitch, whine, pout)" I'd pimp-slap her good.

And have you noticed how vampires have undergone something of an evolution in modern films? The classical vampire was portrayed as a sly, seductive creature, able to charm with their wit, erudition and mid-european accents. But know they look more like heavy metal roadies and fulfil the role of mindless blood-drinking zombies. Sad.

I thought that modern vampires were all tortured and whiny (cf. Lestat and any other Anne Rice weenie). I'll take Angelus or Spike or the Master any day.

Oh, don't get me started on the angsty, mascara-wearing Vampire: the Masquerade goth type vampires who are all pressing their hands to their forehead and going "Woe!"  :puke:

Well, yeah, the Bram Stoker classic vampire is a great creation. But the angst vampire and the biker vampire are products of Hollywood, and therefore suck ass. Having said that, the Hollywood canibal zombies are pretty cool, but only because they were made in the good ol' days of black and white.

As far as I can see, dawn is most irritating character ever... Michelle Tratchenburg (sp?) is annoying in everything... so what is your most hated character from buffy? there you are, something to bitch about...

Hmm... irritating? Gotta be Tara. I can't stand her. If they were gonna make Willow gay, they should've given her an interesting girlfriend, not that little nobody.

I haven't seen Nosferatu but I saw that film about Max Schreck being a vampire, that  was a pretty good film. The original Dracula book was good, although I never really got why he wanted to live in London, or if I did I forgot. Good book though, wierd with all the letters.

I wasn't bothered about Willow becoming a lesbian, I'd heard about it ages before it showed on BBC2, but I do think it would be better if her girlfriend had a bit more personality.

I have absolutely no problem with Willow being a lesbian, but at least have her hook up with someone cool... like Faith.
And bring back her adorable geekiness. I'm tired of All-Powerful Wicca Girl. Unless she becomes evil...

I don't like the fact that willow is a lesbian, because that means that oz and her couldn't get back together, and oz was so cool.

I guess since she went out with Oz before she must be bisexual, who knows? I guess it is all up to the writers.

Riley goes...cool, he is too boring.

Oh GOD! How did I not see this thread EARLIER!! Kryten, why didn't you tell me!! *cries out of lonliness*

Anyway, Yes well.. I have no idea where to start, I don't know! I'm just very very excited and well yes, I was talking to friends of mine and we can't figure out how they're gonna do the next series, is she dead or what? Is she gonna be brought back to life if she is dead? Maybe she's not dead but some weird new branch of Slayer who stays alive. I wish I knew! And I haven't found any sort of rumour mill about it either .. I'm dying to find out any sort of clue.

Meanwhile, Dawn, she annoyed me a fair amount in the beginning - well, most of the time anyway, until she did some growing up, but it seems to run in the family to be whiney and self-centered.
Tara *is* rather bland, isn't she. Then she went all tarded for a while, and that was really unfair.
Grr what's Xander's gf's name... I can't forget, haha she's hilarious, always saying the wrong thing at a bad time. Not understanding the social moralities of the human and modern world. Very cleverly written; and that goes for Spike also. Very witty also.
I would like Oz to come back, he was very nice for the cast...  ;)
And Riley? Mhmmm, I don't know if I can put my finger on it, but I am kinda tired of him. Hope a new love interest for Buffy is on the horizon for the next two seasons. That would be very cool  :flirt:
