Brawl In The Family

I thought it was pretty decent and if they keep making them like this then I don't mind them carrying on until Season 20. I loved the acid rain bit where Homer runs in and out of the house screaming, when he runs out he gets burned, when he runs in he sees the TV broken. The Monopoly game part was the highlight of the episode with many funny moments and the whole family interacting with each other classic Simpsons style.

It was interesting to see the Vegas girls return and it seemed ok but it wasn't needed. I would say it's the second best Season 13 episode after THoH 12. By the way, has anyone noticed how strange some of the animation is in Season 13 in general? Today after watching a Season 10 episode on Sky One, which was nice and clean the new Season 13 episode, had a duller color and some slightly of animation, in one part Marges head was brighter above her necklace than the rest of her body. I've noticed some other strange animation in other Season 13 episodes as well. Strange when you consider that the animation in the previous Season was spot on.

Last night's episode wasn't too good. I won't even bother reviewing it.
6/10, C+, no better.

BRAWL IN THE FAMILY SUCKS ASS!!!! But, last Sundays, "The Latest Gun in the West" wasn't very good either. I'd give it 2/5.
Milhouse: Bart's a goner, anoyone wanna be my new best friend?
Ralph: I will!
Milhouse: Finally! I'll be the dominant one!
Ralph: Be quiet!
Milhouse: Yes sir.

I hadn't watched the Simpsons in awhile. The last ep was ok, but this line sucked all the fun out:

Marge: I guess you're not going to have an adventure this week.

I think sunday's episode was the only one I have been looking forward to this season. I guess it wasn't too bad. Dennis Weaver was pretty badass, but the jokes weren't too funny, and I didn't get the whole thing with the dog chasing Bart(was it supposed to be a parody of "Duel" or what? It fell flat with me).

I have no idea. Maybe, it was a parody of "When Animals Attack"  :)

Two Sundays, two new eps.
3/10: "The Old Man and the Key": Grampa tries to impress a new resident at the retirement home Zelda (voiced by Olympia Dukakis) by getting his drivers license back.
3/17: "Tales From the Public Domain": The Simpsons spoof mythology with Bart as Hamlet, Lisa as Joan of Arc, and Homer as Odysseus in The Odyessy.

I'm not sure, but are The Simpsons going to be doing an extra non-Haloween spoof show for every season?

It would work out better if the theme for "Public Domain" was more concrete, like making all 3 myths be from ancient Greece, or Rome, etc. "Hamlet" is not mythology, at least not to my taste.

You could be right, I think they do it when the writers are out of ideas to make plots for normal epiodes so they just spoof popular stories. The reason It could be every season from now on is because "Bible Stories" was Season 10, "Tall Tales" Season 12 and already we have "Tales from the Public Domain" in the following Season 13, they really are running out of ideas.

Jaws Wired Shut

I liked this one, when I first read the title I thought it would be a load of crap but it was pretty good, second best of Season 13. I liked seeing Itchy & Scratchy back in it again and I could relate to Homer getting fed up of the trailers. What made it good though was Homer's bonding with the rest of the family. The Milhouse bit was amusing but the ending wasn't too good though.

You whiners.  Try seeing if anything even comes close to the shit that's on TV compared to The Simpsons (aside from Futurama of course).  It's still a great, funny show.

I disagree. It used to be a great, funny show. It is slowly dragging itself out of the wacky and zany into less irritating, but I'd much rather watch other shows such as black books, etc, because the simpsons (currently) sucks.

I definintely think Season 13 has been a good one. Seasons 1 through 9 were pretty good and then the episode plots started to get kind of dull for Seasons 10 through 12. Then I think that the show has made a majoy comeback with Season 13 for sure.

Sweets and Sour Marge

After finally getting a new Futurama in the UK yesterday I forgot all about The Simpsons, hence the late review. It was ok but I really hate the stupid unrealistic jokes like when they threw the Butterfinger in the fire and it somehow managed to jump out unharmed. Those are the kind of kiddy jokes that I hate and would never be in it during seasons 1-8. It was no where near as good as Futurama, but to be fair the Futurama was particularly good. I rate the new Simpsons episodes about average for Season 13.

The Butterfingers joke is funny when you remember that Bart Simpson is the spokesman for Butterfingers.

You do have a point, though. The Simpsons' change in comedy style is inevitable, since they've been around since '89. I guess they're trying to keep with the times.

Half Decent Proposal

I really liked this episode, definitely the best episode of Season 13 so far. At last some feeling and emotion were present within an episode. Plenty of laughs and a reasonable plot, not wacky which is good, and the 70s prom with all the characters dressed up in 70s clothing was great. Possibly the stand out episode of Season 13, although not as good as “Trilogy of Error”, the stand out episode of the previous season.

The only real good thing about the episode was during the beginning, where Marge lays out clothes for the scarecrow -- I really liked the pop-ups.

Once, I had an idea that they should release special videos of episodes done a la VH1 pop-ups, showing hidden in-jokes and media references as the show went on. And they finally did something like that.
