"A Hunka Hunka Burns In Love" has just aired in the UK for the first time. It was an ok episode and was a lot better than "Homer The Moe" but it was still pretty poor overall. Season 13 seems to be the all time low for The Simpsons and thats coming from a person who thinks season 12 is a very good season, I hope it picks up in the second half.

Just saw the latest Simpsons episode "Brawl in the Family" and it makes up for every bad episode this season. It brought back the Vegas episode, had a good opening and i love the line from Lisa: "Could this be the end of our series...of events?"

M'eh... not the greatest... there were a few good moments, like Homer's sandwich orgasm, but I'd have to give it a C at best.

The Brawl Family aired last night...

My review: This was surely a great improvement over some other episodes this season. It was a bit boring with the Monopoly and the obvious conflict that the family had, but with Maggie calling the police office and the criminals fighting, it was funny. Throughout the episode, it was good until it got to the return of the Las Vegas women. From then on, it was much better than I thought it would, since they were trying to improving the episode by bringing back old past-season characters. It was absolutely brilliant and hilarious. Overall, it was quality.
My rating: A+, 10/10.

You have to admit that the family discussing the "280 adventures" and the "series" ending was funny because it was true.

Season 13 has gone off to a shaky start then it seemed like clear sailing, then a bump and now... I don't know. The first 5 episodes were directed by Mike Scully but were pretty decent especially Treehouse of Horror XII but not The Blunder Years. She of Little Faith, the first ep Al Jean executive produced, was as great as A Tale of Two Santas. Then, Brawl in the Family ruined his streak. Al Jean'll bounce back, he's the pick of the litter. Anyway, only two really bad episodes this season out of 7 eps. Hmmmmm.....

You forgot the dreadful "Homer the Moe" :(

Thinking back on "A Hunk Hunka Burns in Love" It was not bad, and I forgot to mention the cool part where Mr Burns goes to Disco Stu's.

I actually thought "Brawl in the Family" was an excellent episode.  Its plot was a little off, but it seemed to have more heart and cleverness than any other Season 13 Episode.  Speaking of which, Season 13 seems to be a HUGE improvement over Season 12 in my opinion.  "Treehouse of Horror XII" was grat.  The "Parent Rap" and "Homer the Moe" were so-so, nothing special.
"Hunka Hunka Burns in Love" was excellent!  "The Blunder Years" was the low point of the Season.  "She of Little Faith" was a great way for Al Jean to kick off his return and "Brawl in the Family" was the best episode so far this season.

Your kidding right?

I know everyone's entiled to their own opinion, heres mine. Season 13 is turning out really bad, the THoH was excellent I admit but overall it just is not very good. Season 12 is much better in my opinion, episodes like "Trilogy of Error", "Worst Episode Ever", "Tale of Two Springfields", "Computer Wore Menace Shoes" and the THoH are superb, none of season 13 has come close other than it's own THoH.

Thanks for the welcome futurefreak.

Oh, and Otis P, I wasn't kidding when I said Season 13 is going much better.  The only Season 12 episodes I really liked were "Trilogy of Error" and "Worst Episode Ever."  With the exception of "The Blunder Years" and "Homer the Moe," I have really liked every Simpson's episode so far this season.  "Brawl in the Family" and "Hunka Hunka Burns in Love" were two of the best Simpsons episodes I have seen in quite some time.  But, like you said, everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

The Blunder Years

This episode has just aired in the UK, it was ok but it seemed forced and added little to The Simpsons franchise. I liked the part showing Homer as a child and Fat Tony as a child was funny. It was more of a mystery episode where the plot is trying to solve a mystery. Overall I would say it's below adveridge but not bad, better than "Homer the Moe" but a lesser episode than the other season 13 episodes.

It had its fair share of laughs in the beginning, in my opinion, but towards the end it just kinda died.  Best episode of Season 13, but then again, that's not saying much.

Sweets and Sour Marge

My Review: Wasn't too good. It had some laughs, but it went so fast and it was pretty weak, overall. Not among the best of season 13.

Jaws Wired Shut

This well may be the best episode of the season so far. Acts I and III were very funny. There were some really great jokes on this one.

I loved the Homer writes 'yes' twice part and I liked the movie part a lot too (ITCHY & SCRATCHY!!) "The professor said he shouldn't get a boner" was funny too, not because of the joke but because movies actually do have lameass jokes like that. The jaw part was great too (Maggie gags). Although the Popeye part was a bit cartoony, it did't go too far so the joke stayed funny "Fuel for my muel, gas for my ass".
Overall: A

Jaws Wired Shut

My review: It sounded okay at first. It turned out about the same. There were some funny parts, reminding me that not all episodes are really that bad anymore.

Homer's mumbling was kinda funny, but I didn't really go for the Popeye gags. They already did a Popeye parody(substituting alcohol for spinach) on The Critic. They also already did the ridiculously easy movie word scramble on The Critic(they added to it here, by having the answer not be Tom Hanks, but still, reusing that concept seemed lame to me).

There were some decent jokes throughout the episode, but it still had too much lame stuff.

I liked it, especially Duffman.
Lenny: Hey, I thought you died from liver failure?

"She Of Little Faith" has just aired in the UK, overall it was a pretty decent episode, I liked it when the church had all of that advertising. The nerds make another appearance after many years away and the bullys are funny too. It wasn't one of the best episodes but it's my second favourate so far in Season 13, after THOH 12.

Meh, it was ok.  It started out with potential, but it just went downhill.  Jon Lovitz singing is NOT the way to end a show.  Will someone please tell me when did interracial homoeroticism become funny?  It just seems to me that they're overusing Lenny and Carl.  Then again, it was better than "The Parent Rap" or "Homer the Moe," or even than "She of Little Faith."

Wow, that was probably the most single random review ever.

Half-Decent Proposal

My review: Great to see Lovitz return to the set as Artie Ziff. This and next week's episode have sounded great to me and I'm sure next week's episode will be just as good. Artie didn't get weird, like old resurrected characters have done recently. The plot was really good and I was pleased with how it turned out. Great laughs and great Simpsons.

Haha.

That Simpsons episode was ok, I guess. The Al Jean episodes this season have been noticeably better than the Mike Scully stuff, but I don't know, I just can't bring myself to care anymore. The show just seems like nothing. I watch, I laugh at some of the jokes, and then it ends and I forget all about it

And frankly, it pisses me off that this show will go on for at least 2 more FULL seasons, while a great show like Futurama gets totally dicked.
