It would be hard to choose just one favorite episode, but "The Soul Piper and the Mischievous Little Soul" is a good one.  It takes place in the present day instead of the feudal era, it has nothing to do with the Shikon Jewel or Naraku, and yet, somehow it works.

i watch it sometimes and yeah, it's a pretty cool show.
too bad the first half of it is on when i'm watching spongebob squarepants, otherwise i would watch it more often.

Wouldn't doubt it...
I have seen Inuyasha a few times and it's pretty good.
My favorite episode so far is one where this little girl dies in a fire and comes back to the real world for revenge on her mother.

N-e-crap...it's a good show.
