Maybe you could use the search button, Slurm Guy.  If you're not going to provide a link to the old thread, don't bother spamming up this thread with your "we already have one of these" posts.

Oh, and don't respond to this post either.  That would be spam too.

O.K i wont.

The official line is that it was bad but has now come good again since Groenig didnt have Futurama to work on anymore. But i say that its still a shadow of its former self. But at least its a shadow. Before it was a completely differnt show.

Agreed that its gotten better now, but give Al Jean the credit, not Matt Groening.  Truth be told Groening's involvement is the exact same as its been since about season four: next to nothing.

It's gotten to the point where I wish I could hit everyone responsible for it continuing, and everyone responsible for writing all those terrible new 'jokes'. And I wish I could burn Seasons 14 and 15, and most of 10, 11 and 12 too...

Seasons 1-8 (classics) = Great

Seasons 9-12 (Scully) = Shit

Seasons 13 + (Al Jean) = Good

Homer and Bart are more popular, simple as that.

Mind you, Lisa is actually my favorite character (although I don't have the same creepy obsession that you do).  But Bart and Homer are more popular, simple as that.

Yeardley Smith won't quit.  Aside from the ridiculous amounts of money she makes doing the show, she presumably still enjoys doing it and if nothing else probably feels obligated to continue playing a character that's become "hers" over the years as long as the show continues.

The amounts aren't ridculous in comparison to what the cast of friends make. they probably dont want to ruin it for everyone by quitting

Well, I'm not comparing their salaries to other shows.  People on many other shows such as Friends definetely make WAY more money.  But I still find the salaries the Simpsons cast makes to be fairly ridiculous.  Not that they aren't brilliant mind you, I just don't think anyone should be making 100,000 for each episode of a tv show.

But yeah, that's another thing.  If they were to quit there's no guaranteeing Fox wouldn't just replace them, which would just make things worse.  The show would probably end if a major voice actor left (they were able to get around Roswell and Hartman), but there's just no guaranteeing.

Couple this with comments that the Simpsons has jumped the shark, and you get an interesting mental image.  :p
