This doesnt say much.. Just a friendly artical from MSN about EP2 The big news was made public Monday on Lucasfilm's official Website, www.starwars.com, and it finally puts a moniker on what was up to this point referred to only as Star Wars: Episode II. Attack of the Clones is due in theaters next year. And if you think the new title sounds more like the sequel to Mars Attacks! or some Saturday matinee, Lucas apparently wanted it that way. "It harkens back to the sense of pure fun, imagination and excitement that characterized the classic movie serials and pulp space fantasy adventures that inspired the Star Wars saga," Lucasfilm says in its announcement. Lucas's latest prequel, which was shot using digital cameras, fast-forwards 10 years after the events in 1999's Episode I: The Phantom Menace. This time around, 20-year-old Hayden Christensen stars as Anakin Skywalker, who's turning into an accomplished Jedi (but not yet Darth Vader) as an apprentice to Obi-Wan Kenobi, played once again by Ewan McGregor. Natalie Portman also returns to her role as Queen Padmé Amidala. Shooting on Attack of the Clones began last June in Australia and wrapped last September--ahead of schedule--in London. Naturally, Monday's announcement was greeted with the same fanfare that comes with every other shred of detail concerning Star Wars--plenty of Web chatter and geek-like analysis about Lucas's decision. "It's a great title. Fun, short and sweet," wrote one anonymous moviegoer, replying on one of Star Wars' many fan sites. Others weren't so pleased. "I'm hoping it's an official hoax," one posting read. "He's got to be screwing with us." Stars Wars fans have always kept a close eye on the films' titles, starting with 1977's A New Hope (although the original Star Wars didn't get that additional title until later) on through The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi (which stirred its own name-game debate when Lucas originally planned to call it Revenge of the Jedi) and The Phantom Menace.

star wars episode two has to be when he joins the dark side becuse episode 3 going to show you how he hunted down all the jetis I think it would be lame as all get-out if Anakin turned to the dark side in AotC(I'm trying to get used to that title/acronym). What would be left for episode III? It would just be pointless Jedi-killing. Sure, it's dark and violent and would make the idiot teenager fanboys happy, but would it make a good movie? Would it make sense and fit in with the other five movies? Hell no. There's a scriptment thingy at theforce.net. I think AotC is shaping up to be swell...it's darker and has less kiddy crap(except for maybe the Boba Fett thing, but I think that whole deal will be badass up on screen). All the Jedi type stuff seems badass as usual(even though Return of the Jedi and Phantom Menace had some gayness, I have never been let down by the jedi knight-related scenes/plotlines), the plot is good, and the new villian guy sounds cool as hell. Of course there are things that worry me, but considering just about everything worried me when I read Episode I spoilers, it's not too bad. The arena scene. It sounds a little too gladiator-ish. I wish Lucas would have written it in a more scifi-ish manner.
Romance--I read some dialogue from one of the "romantic" scenes. Sounded awful. I don't care how good Hayden Christiansen is, nobody can save lines like that. What's the point of hiring Jonathan Hales if the dialogue still sounds this bad?
Yoda fighting. This could be a huge disaster. If they can't get it to look good, I hope they have the good sense to just cut it. I can't think of any truly horrible fight scenes Lucas has shot though, so this doesn't worry me too much.

We made fun of the movie title over at the Springfield Message Board. Whatever the title, I hope it'll be better than Episode 1. This new trilogy seems to me like they're butchering the classic Star Wars universe. I compare it to the feeble attempts to recreate Woodstock or the Chevy Impala. Twice around ain't just as good. Alternate titles? How about: "Clone Wars" "Anakin and the Cloneasaurus" "The Clone Collector" "--untitled--"
