It is really sad that scene with the love theme playing in the background was better done then anything dealing with the romance  in the second film. Tartakovsky knows how to use silence very well. So what did people think?

If you missed the episode you can download the episodes here.

First impressions: the character designs made me want to cry at first. So freaking sucky. Seeing them in motion(with Star Wars music and sound effects made) made them seem not as bad, but Palpatine, Dooku, and Mace Windu are still awful.

I like the three minute segment idea. It's a good way to keep the story tight, so we don't end up with long drawn out fight scenes and scenes with the main character walking around silently for 20 minutes, ala Samurai Jack.

This first episode seemed rushed, but I think that's only because it's setting up all of the other episodes. I expect the next few, that deal with one particular situation, to be a lot better. If they aren't, then Genndy Tartakovsky has raped my childhood.

Edited: Also, with the show being so short, I love the "next week" clips.

Next week, on Clone Wars: *one tenth of a second clip of a space ship zooming by*

Don't miss it. I hope for the next episode, they have a "Last time, on Clone Wars:" thing, where they show the entire previous episode.

Do the film actors do the voices?

Oh my, no. Although from what I can tell, Yoda and Obi-Wan and Anakin are close enough to not be distracting. Palpatine's voice wasn't very accurate, but neither was his design, so whatever.

I read that Anthony Daniels is doing C-3PO still, but I assume he doesn't appear very much in this series.

Also, I should point out that our good friends at Rough Draft are doing the 3D animation. Go Rough Draft!

Yeah, the designs for Palpatine and Anakin are jarring and ugly. Palpatine in particular made my eyes bleed.

I dunno, I guess it was alright. Maybe episodes 1 and 2 have burnt me out on Star Wars, but this didn't really seem that special to me. Maybe the longer it goes...

That's ok, as long as they didn't change them into monkeys or Peewee Herman voices.

Stupid site, it says I need Quicktime and iTunes? What's up with that?
I don't want stupid nerf herding iTunes!!

Also, how big filesize-wise are the eps?
3 mins good quality, by my estimation = 5 - 20 megs?

Yeah, the Quicktime player that they use to broadcast the episodes sucks balls, btw. It's really grainy and RealPlayer-ish.

Bumping this thread because the past two episodes were cool. Anyone catch them? I like seeing clones running around doing stuff way better than strangely designed main characters, talking about stuff.

Well, it's made out of light, so I guess it's possible to work underwater.

Personally, I don't like rooting for anyone named "Kit Fisto" anyway.

And when does CN show these episodes? They heavilly promoted the first episode, but do they show the rest at like 8 pm or something?

/edit -- yes, they do.

And someone should be hurt for including the "Roger, Roger" line again.

Are they showing on normal CN and not just on Toonami (which I don't have)?  :(

On normal CN. It's on, here in the East Coast, at 8 pm. I'm not sure when it'd be on for you, though. You could just watch it the next day via the site (damn you, Real Player!)

Ya can blame old Mr Lucas for the name as he first appeared in episode 2.

Well anyway I think the shows are really awesome so far even though they last for like 30 seconds, I especially like that new bounty hunter guy (Durge?)

Does anyone think there will be any more animated Star wars shows after clone wars?

I saw only 4 episodes (I'll watch them all when they broadcast them all, soon) and I think that the art and animation is just magnificent. Samurai Jack could be a jedi and you would barely notice. 10/10. Although chapter one was C R A P crap

I hate the animations, because they look like if they were made onh flash, they are mediocre and simple.
And the plot is what George Lucas would do in the presetn: Bad Stuff
Since George Lucas got technology, Star Wars died!

reviving due to second set of episodes - NEWS YOU'VE PROBSBLY ALREADY READ AT CGEF: JOHN DIMAGGIO TO BE THE VOICE OF THE NEW VILLAIN!

Anyway, what do you think about the three episodes that have shown so far? I liked the little quip of Anakin's in Ep. 11 where he gets the Sith craft in his scopes, then says "I have you now." The movie may not have been terrific, but these are shaping out to be pretty good. I see George Lucas took a cue from how the Wachowskis collaborated with the directors of "The Animatrix" shorts and decided to give Tartakovsky the basic scripts and premises for each ep and let him run with the rest, except for - like "Final Flight Of The Osiris" and "Kid's Story" with "The Animatrix" - a few episodes and certain  story elements and lines of the episodes that Lucas demanded had to be in there. These shorts may actually be the best Star Wars stuff on screen since "Return Of The Jedi," if Ep. 3 turns out horrendous - although, with Mr. Voice Of Bender doing the voice of the main villain, we know General Grevious' scenes in the movie will be digestable, if his lines aren't god-awfully written...

Sigh...I've missed all three episodes this season. And I don't want to watch crappy internet versions. Does anyone know when they are replaying them?

I haven't been following episode III's production very closely. John isn't doing the voice for the movie, is he? I thought it was just the cartoon version. I'm not sure what to think, if he's in the movie. It'll be jarring, but also kinda cool, I guess.

you can watch them at the cartoon network website - they're not the best quality, but it is quicktime, so it's not jumpy like realplayer.

I saw the final episode.  It's a bit hard to believe that one guy who we've never heard of before could take on five Jedi simultaneously and apparently beat them.  Why isn't he in charge?  And why didn't the Jedi just rip him apart?  Only once does one of them try to use the Force against him, but somehow he dodges it.

According to the official website, Dooku is the political leader of the Separatist movement, and General Grievous is the military leader - and 'the greatest hand-to-hand jedi killer the galaxy has ever known.'

Here's a good picture of what he'll look like in the movie:

He looks to be like the droid version of Vader - robot with bits of flesh in areas (like the eyes.)

EDIT: and remember, good ol' bender does the voice of this guy. Go Dimaggio!

I just saw a couple of episodes of this show on CN at 10:00.  I'm way out of episode order, but I like what I see.  I'm going to have to borrow the episodes my buddy taped to see all the previous ones.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuump.

Well, looks like there's going to be a third series.

They've changed format though. Instead of ten 3min eps, it's now going to be five 12 min eps. Which is a change for the better, as far as I'm concerned.

Apparently Grevious will have an expanded role, and it will lead directly into Ep III...

Also, if anyone cares, the first two seasons are getting a DVD release. So, er, yay.
