I say TV died the moment Futurama played its last broadcast on FOX.  Man, today's audiences are dull.  What's your least favorite show of all time?  But I feel, personaly, that the worst TV show of all time is Joe Millionare 2/Banzai.  They used Banzai to knock out Futurama.  Damn, Banzai!   :finger:  But JMII is just weird.  :nono:

Lizzie Crapguire wins hands down. Good news is, Duff quit cause she complained she was getting no money. What a fuck head.. I'd love to have my own show, regardless of money. It might be fun. Bad news is, she's going to spend more time singing. Please help.

Also basically any relaity show is bad except for fear factor from time to time. Notice I say, "time to time" ,meaning hardly ever.

I also dislike the reality show craze, partly because they're hokey, partly because they'll never be "real" as long as the contestants know that they're on camera.

I also hate ST: Enterprise with a passion, gad, is this what Trek has fallen to?  Man, if it wasn't a Trek show, it would have been axed in the first year, in my opinion.

Oh, Hil, I thought all you young girls thought that Hilly Duff was the best, because she's talented and pretty and just so cuuute  ;)

<Um Hil, what're doing with that Chainsaw? You know, an ax would probably be easier to wield and...Yargh! ok ok I was just kidding, aiieee!! My torso, my precious torso!>

I agree that all this reality crap, especially the really ridiculous ones like Joe Millionaire and Mr Personality, are really horrible. They seem to be just getting more and more exploitative, and I didn't even think that was possible. Sky One actually billed 'Scare Tactics' as 'relity TV gone too far'. Stuff like KoTH and Banzai aren't the best, but they're not that bad.

Then again, most of Sky One's 'original' progamming is even more dire. 'Pop Years 1997'? 'Posh and Becks Years'?

I do dig Samurai Jack I must confess, other than that, a few choice shows on adult swim and the daily show, most TV is a hearty waste of time.  I think I'll go discover English folklore now.

Reality shows bite, sitcoms aren't funny, TV dramas are way too re-hashed, the news is biased and dumbed down, the movies are all edited castrated, commercials...Is it any wonder I watch cartoons?  Animation at least reminds me that if you watch TV it's fantasy, there's nothing real on.  Read a book.

I hate reality shows, but there is one stands out as the single worst one I have ever seen on television ever. It is known as The Salon and I have had the misfortune of seeing it on E4 a few times while waiting for other alright shows like Friends. If you have never seen The Salon before, allow me to explain how the show works.

Ok, imagine a hairdressers.
Now imagine a hairdressers with a camera in it filming everyone having their hair cut.
And there you have it.

What makes it worse is that about half of the time it is on, there is no sound because they are advertising a product so they have to cut it out, like on Big Brother (also dreadful). And the worst thing of all is that it is on all the time on E4 and a little bit on Channel 4 which means, rather shockingly, it must be getting good ratings! And Futurama got cancelled I tell you!!!  :nono:

Ok I have finished ranting now.

Reality tv shows suck a lot, but I think the most problematic show on television is probably Friends.  Its not just that its unfunny and that the characters are paper-thin.  That's true of most shows around.  But I think it just sends the worst subtle messages to people, teenagers especcially, about how they need to act and look.  I'm not one to jump on the "video games cause school shootings" bandwagon, but I think Friends sends some more subtle and more dangerous messages.

Soaps. Any type of soap. Any combination of soap. Anything that even comes close to being a soap. I really hate them, especially since British TV is overflowing with them and some have been going for forty years with little or no changes at all. They don't improve, they regurgitate the same plot twists, characters and stories again and again and they the writing just plain sucks. The acting is wooden, the characters are broadly drawn and none of them I give a toss about, the direction is boring (because they supposedly replicate 'real-life') and the episodes have no structure to them at all, everything just follows everything else. The cliffhangers don't entice me to watch next week, the 'controversial subject matter' that occurs every so often is badly done, just an attempt to get more ratings and has been done better in other shows before them. But what ticks me off most is that the media focuses on them over just about any other programmes, they get awards piled on whe there are more deserving programmes out there, and that they're popular only because people like to gossip about them. It annoys me that all my favorite programmes have been cancelled while TV companies will pull out all the stops to keep their soaps on the air, even after forty years of the same crappy drivel.

No offense to anyone who likes soaps.

@DotheBartman: Same here, for the reasons I stated above.

God, I forgot how much I hate soaps. Absolutely nothing interesting ever happens in them and the acting is astoundingly bad, and yet they're the most popular things on TV here, by a huge margin. Quality seems to be inversely proportional to popularity. Typically, decent terrestrial TV shows like the Simpsons and CSI get between 2 and 4 million viewers, but the top ten list every week is all soaps, which get between 8 and 12 million viewers every single bloody episode. People have no taste.

Those are the "good" anime?  Good lord...

Ghost in the Shell is sexist, hard to understand, and has absolutely atrocious voice acting.  Akira has good motorcycle animation but that's about all it has going for it.

I maintain that the only good anime I've seen so far is Spirited Away.

Big Brother. I single out this show because for me it is the epitome of the bad Reality TV angle. It gets the most hype, takes up the most TV time, and to be has no set agenda. It seems to be "Stick a bunch of people in a house and watch".

Invite a bunch of people to your house and have fun with them would be a much better use of everyone's time

Shows such as Pop Idol, Joe Millionaire etc. probably do suck (can't say they appeal to me anyway) but at least there's an agenda. And let's face it they're all just jumping on the bandwagon started by the aformention Big Brother.

Soaps must be doing something right. Corrie has been around for over 40 years. Miseryville, aka Eastenders is approaching 20. The Archers has been around for over half a century (not TV I know) so not everyone must hate them. Can't say I'm a fan of Eastenders because everyone's so f'in mserable, but shows such as Hollyoaks or Dallas are so silly to the point of becoming good again. I also watch Corrie on an infrequent basis.

However my least favourite TV programs of all time are Rugrats and Pokemon for being idiotic mind-numbingly stupid kids shows that reached a hysteric leve of popularity with those at school who were about to do their GCSEs, and could legally hold down a job and live alone.
