Happy Gilmore. "Get in your home! Are you too good for your home?"  :laff:

Also, this thread should go in the Movies and TV forum.

Punch Drunk Love

Finally a romantic comedy that
a) doesn't have Meg Ryan in it
b) is romantic
c) is funny
d) is very well written and directed
e) is original
f) actually makes you care about the characters by the end

phew... just letting off steam after being forced to sit through one Meg Ryan movie too many   :)

will you marry me? I  that  movie
I only have one gripe with it. The girl character didn't really have much character development. She was just the girl that liked him (and why, really?)

Big Daddy all the way.

I almost met Adam Sandler once... but he wasn't on the set the day my family was invited to go  :( So I have yet to meet him in person.

For someone who :hearts: it so much, you sure don't ever want to watch it.

I abstain from voting. As well as from other things.

And now you go insulting my friend Rob Schneider?

Meh on you. Well, everyone does have their own taste in movies, mine is sick humor like Rob and Adam's, so I shouldn't be picking fights with HJS. Sorry.

I'm torn between just using Coop's opinion and forming one of my own.  Since he's said what I think on this matter, I'll just use his.

I pick the one where he's that guy, that after a really funny incident, has to play the role of another person, object or other, which ofcourse leads to hilarious situations!

..oh wait that's like half of them.

I guess it was the director making a point about the mysterious/unpredictable nature of love and stuff. His sister showed her a photo of him and something inside her made her want to see him, and told her that it would be OK to take a chance and invent an excuse to 'bump' into the person she was interested in...

(and who of us hasn't done that at some point   :))

The thing about Punch-Drunk Love is that it is not an Adam Sandler film. It is a film by a great director with Adam Sandler as the lead, and in fact it is quite insulting to see it placed alongside those other films! (except The Wedding Singer)

I dunno, it's too early to be getting this profound

It's tough choosing between Happy Gilmore and Big Daddy. I'll go with Gilmore for the great scene with Bob Barker. I really liked the mix of emotion and humor in Big Daddy though.

Billy Madison, The Wedding Singer and the Waterboy are also very entertaining.

Where's the option for "None of them"?

Adam Sandler makes Jim Carey look like the Stanley Kubrick of comedy.

This brings to earth another group of questions... which low-rent job hungry comedy act is funnier, a better actor, and more desperate....

Adam Sandler    Vs.    Rob Schneider

But thats best left for yet another thread.
