Gumby is a character in a bunch of old claymation shorts by Art Clokey.  He had a horse friend, Pokey.  That's really all I can remember.

Gumby is a sweet show, classic claymation.  Prickle is my favorite character.  I have a plush Gumby sitting in my car.  Poor guy, half of him has turned from green to brown from all the sunlight exposure.  :(

Did anyone else expect this to be a Monty Python thread? Because I've never heard of Gumby, apart from:

'Gumbercules! I love that guy!'

:laff: Anyway I watched Gumby when I was young, but I have a feeling I didn't like it all that much...

Goddamn, I love that quote. But uh, to stay on topic, um, Gumby is nothing compared to Gumbercules. A few weeks ago I was pondering buying gumbercules.com when my current domain name runs out.

Also, Pokey the horse is okay.

Gumby was one cool retro cartoon. And I liked it when the whole group played in the band.

I remember one episode, where Pokey was reading a Clayboy magazine. They wanted to see how it felt like to score so they jumped into the magazine and into the Clayboy Mansion. Gumby's bump extended, and rolled in with a girl into a clay ball.

Okay, that didn't really happen, but it was a spoof I saw  :D

I have fond memories of Gumby from childhood, but I think it was the 80s version, with Gumby and Pokey jumping into a bunch of books and having adventures.

EDIT: Oh, God, I remember the theme:
He once was a little lump of clay,
(GUMBY!)
You should see what Gumby is today.
(Gumby!)
He can walk thourgh any book, with his pony pall Pokey too.
If you've got a heart then Gumby's a part of you.
(Gumby!)

Does my brain have nothing better to do with this space?

If your sad, Gumby maks you glad
with all the things he can dooooo...
If you have a heart then Gumbys a part of you!
If you have a heart then Gumbys the a pal for youuuuuuuu!

(Thats the one I remember)
