True story: I actually watched "Street Fighters" on cable a couple of weeks ago. I actually managed to sit through mosty of it. Was that Danny John-Jules (The Cat) as the Jamaican guy? I tried to read the credits, but they were scrunched. Anybody know the address of the IMDB? This is gonna drive me nuts...

Tried www.imdb.com  and, whammo, there it was!

And it isn't 911 anymore. The real number is 912.

Really now, the best part of PotA, other than the closing scene, so wonderfully re-enacted by Homer, was when Charlton Heston got a gun!  Mark Wahlburg's not the president of the NRA, so it won't be anywhere near as cool/funny!

I just saw Mystery Men and it was okay, but I expected more...
Wild Wild West, a movie I forgot to mention, that I saw 2 nights ago, is very cool.
As well as Down To Earth is very funny...

On Lightsabers:

Would Darth Maul have been half as cool if he only had one or two regular lightsabers?

What does everyone think about Jurrassic Park 3? I thought the first one was just ok, and I never bothered to see the second one. But for some reason the hype is sucking me in this time around...I think it's gonna be a cool action movie. Hopefully it won't be ruined by annoying little children.

That ain't no ordinary Broadway tune, my friend(little donut, if you will). Why that's a crude rendition of Rock Me Amadeus, Falco's big american hit.

Sigh...oh, Falco.

Speaking of, they need to hurry up and make Indiana Jones IV before Harrison Ford dies of old age. There seems to be a new rumor every week, but no official announcements have been made.

Has anyone read the Indiana Jones and The Saucer Men From Mars script? I read a detailed review of it...it had some cool stuff, but I'm glad they decided not to use it for Indy IV. I don't think people would go for aliens in an Indiana Jones movie.

I LOVE that title though. It's so unbelievably Lucas-ish.

The title page on the script actually says "Jar Jar's Great Adventure", believe it or not. Either Lucas is trying to show that he has a sense of humor about the universal hatred of Jar Jar, or he's completely serious and the whole movie is about that wacky gungan.

1. DS9 - anything after season 3
2. TNG
3. Voyager
4. DS9 - before season 3

Don't get me wrong, I watched Voyager faithfully.  It's just that I'd just as soon see TNG or DS9 (after they introduced the Defiant, of course).

What do you mean, they have to make it look crappy?  You think they're going to use 60's era special effects or something?

Where does TOS fit on your scale, Nix? Mine is...

1) DS9 (Season 3 and on)
2) TNG
3) DS9 (pre-Season 3)
4) TOS
5) Voyager

TNG and DS9 were good but I don't like Voyager at all, sure Seven is hot but thats not enough to save it.
The voyager characters are annoying especially  capt Janeway and it always seems to preach some moral message.

Yeah, that's why I listed it as my least favorite. The fact that Seven and The Doctor were the only characters that didn't irritate me didn't help.

TNG was Star Trek perfecton- well written, always exciting, genuinely thought-provoking with great characters, brilliant actors and a pleasingly theatrical tone.

The saddest thing about Voyager was that it was a good premise that wasn't taken to its logical conclusion. DS9 was well-written, but the nature of the setting meant that nothing very interesting would happen. And the geopolitical bits with the Federation and Bajorans were pretty dull, neither were the characters that interesting.

Voyager had so much potential- Original series style explorations, big budget, potentially interesting crew, but they screwed it up royally. The characters are completely NON-dimensional and the writing was attrocious. The finale is the biggest piece of wank you could imagine. However, what Voyager did do was occasionally pull out some spectacular episodes from amongst the crap, Year of Hell, for example.

Uninteresting characters? Hogwash! You have Kira, the feisty ex-terrorist; Odo, a total misanthrope who just wants to be loved; Dax, with 8 (later 9) personalities, one of whom is a psycho killer; Bashir, the arrogant schmuck; Quark, a scumbag, but such a CUTE scumbag; Rom, Rain Man with big ears; and Garak, whom I could write a term paper on.

And the villains! Dukat, the twisted Napoleon who thinks he's a hero; Kai Winn, the Evil Pope; Weyoun, the used car salesman from hell... man, I miss that show.
