Edelweiss (probably spelt wrong) is a lovely song. I also forgot to mention Arthur Freed, without him there would be no 'Singin' in the Rain'.

Apparently this will be the subject of AFI's next top 100 list.  The list of nominees for top 100 movie songs is up on their website.

Ha! You beat me to it. The End is a favourite opening song for one of my favourite movies. The original sound score for Apocalypse Now which I think was made by someone in the coppolla family, is amazing aswell.

The opening song for Clockwork Orange is excellent.

Alot of songs from Star Wars are great, especially Imperial March.

Cavatina, the theme for Deerhunter is quite emotional which is perfect for that film.

The music in Space Odyssey and Midnight Cowboy is worth metioning.

Didn't Jennifer Lopez (shudder) do a crap sample of the music from Midnight Cowboy? I'd like to know who did the original.

I have no idea. But the person who wrote the theme for MC was Harry Nilsson(also appeares on Futurama.

Also I forgot. The music in Amelie Montmartre, Bladerunner and Sweet and Lowdown

Does anybody know the name of the song and artist that plays in the movie Catwoman?

It plays during the scene where Halle Berry and Benjamin Bratt (Berry's love interest) are playing one-on-one basketball.  That song was also used to promo the movie on TV spots.

Thanks LAN.gnome. Also, I'm looking for the song they play at the end of the movie SWAT and they use the old SWAT TV theme.

Is it "Samuel Jackosn" by Hot Action Cop?

Just recently saw the South Park movie, and I love pretty much every song in it, but "Blame Canada" takes the cake.

The Soundtrack to Kill Bill 1 and 2 is fabulous!  I particulary like the songs after she kills lucy lui, and the beginning and end credits for both!

1.Don't You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds in "The Breakfast Club"
2.(You Could be Mine) by Guns N' Roses in "Terminator 2 Judgement Day"
3."Master of Puppets" by Metallica in Old School
4."Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" by AC/DC in Dirty Work
5."Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood also in T2 Judgement Day
6."I Stand Alone" by Godsmack in Scorpion King
7. All the Aerosmith songs in Armageddon

I like the opening music in T2, but it's not by a band or anything, it was made for the movie.

The movie "Casino" has some good songs in it.

The "Weird Science" song in the Weird Science movie.

Let's see... several Star Wars tunes (natch).
The Pulp Fiction soundtrack ('Get down! Uh!')
Kill Bill (my fave being that song when the Bride faces off with O-Ren... y'know, with the Spanish guitar awesomeness and the clickety-clickety things).
Gladiator's was pretty nice...
Amelie's is so sickeningly cheerful, it makes me want to hug people.
There's others...

Three words: I'm...so...ronery

Three more words: America, Fuck Yeah!

Parker may be the best musical songwriter/VO artist since...is there anyone else who ever did both?

Santa Esmerelda - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood.

And those clickety-clickety things are just clapping!

What's the song when The Bride has Sophie hostage in the club and then she lops off her arm?

Disney has some cool songs.  "Circle of Life"  from The Lion King, and "A whole new world" from  Aladdin, I knew every word on the Aladdin movie.  Man I was crazy when I was 18.

It sounds a lot like an Ennio Morricone composition.  I think it's something from the Dollars trilogy, but I'm not sure.

hmm, i found this in a search, but it doesnt appear to be on any of the 5 pages of "it's got a TV" board.

Question.
in the movie garden state, there is a continual nice little guitar part, its very mellow, its the menu music aswell if you own the DVD. im pretty sure this is acredited as "Movie Beat" by Dante Ross. its not on the soundtrack and im quite sure it would just be a little thing created for the movie. what i was wondering was if anyone knows where i can get this song, and if it is "Movie Beat". Thanks
