For all you folks hanging around here, do you remember the first movie that you ever watched?  This can either be one that you saw on TV, or at the movie theatre.

The first one I can recall seeing was Godzilla vs the Smog Monster, which I saw as part of a double bill at a Saturday afternoon matinee, the other film was Earth vs the Flying Saucers.  This was back when I could get a ticket, drink, and popcorn for 2 dollars, and still have change (Man, I sound old, bleah!), and could spend the whole afternoon there with other kids.

The first film I think I saw at the cinema was Disney's The Little Mermaid (1989). I think at home it was possibly Back To The Future II / III  :)

Hmm. I think it might have been Aladdin, or maybe I'm just thinking of that because it was on the big screen at work yesterday.

Oddly, my mother (who is in her 40s) remembers that he first movie was "That Darn Cat".

Good question, wow that's hard... I think it was either probabaly a disney film, something like Alice in Wonderland, which I still love today. And my first non-animated film, I think was ET  :)

I think the first movie I watched at the theater was Bambi. I also saw Short Circuit 2 and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I loved those movies, but I also loved the commericals they made featuring those characters. I usually hate commericals, but I loved those.

you kids are all so young.
I don't remember my first movie, although as a kid one of my favorites was The Last Unicorn. It came out in 1982 and I was born in 1981, so that could of been one of my first movies (i doubt i saw it at the theater though)

The first film I ever remember watching was Disney's The Little Mermaid. I loved that film and remember getting it on video for my birthday too. It was my favourite Disney film at the time and I must have seen it at least 15 times or more  :)

Although I sort of remember being scared out of my wits by an old movie about giant ants as a four-or-so-year old, the first movie I can remember seeing in its entirety was Batman, which was just after my family moved to Michigan.  I'm sure there were others before that, but I'll be damned if I can remember any of them.

Fantasia at an auditiorium.  They had a live orchestra playing along to the movie.  I was like 5 or 6 and the broom scene freaked me out.

Maybe "Short Circuit" or "Ghostbusters."
"Flight of the Navigator" is also a possibility.

The first movie I saw in a theatre was "Batman Returns." Or was it "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze"? BM Returns, I think.
Whichever came out first.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was Star Wars. My older brothers had it on tape, and watched it pretty much non-stop for the first few years of my life.

Sometimes I wonder if that affected me in any way.

Ghostbusters, perhaps. But I was watching pieces at a time, I think. And as for theater, I think it was Little Mermaid. I saw it twice in a row since I didn't bother to look for my parents  :D

Although Jurassic Park remains my favourite film, and the film which probably defines my childhood and made me realise how much I love movies, it wasn't my first as I was 8 at the time. I think my first film was possibly The Wind in the Willows, I know it was the first VHS tape that we ever bought. Other possibilities are The Land Before Time, ET, and Dumbo.
As for Cinema trips, I think it could be The Little Mermaid.

...Little Shop..Little Shop a' Horrors...bop, shoo, bop, Little shop...

First movie I remember seeing in the theater...Sgt. Pepper's Lonley Hearts Club Band --Staring the BeeGee's and Peter Frampton.  This is quite possibly one of the worst ever.
