Alan Jackson.. Another case of me pointing at the TV and saying "That's what I thought!" This is why I love South Park.
Delayed action response TOTPD!

Has anyone else noticed they're starting to make Cartman into an older version of Stewie now? Why are all the evil characters on TV gay these days?

Cartman's nothing like Stewie. They're both evil, but Stewie is calculating and sadistic while Cartman is selfish and insensitive. Similar.. yeah.. but with very different styles. And hello? These days, everyone on TV has become gay to a degree. Most notably Homer Simpson.

I don't think they've made Cartman gay.  Matt and Trey are more creative then that.  As for Homer they've made some jokes (dating back to "Last Exit to Springfield" anyway) but have never seriously implied it like with Stewie.

Anyways, finally saw "Up the Down Steroid" and thus all of this season so far.  Good season so far.  A couple were mixed but no bad episodes, and there's been several great ones already.  Can't wait for the next run in like half a year....(like last year the delay is apparently due to Matt and Trey working on "Team America" or whatever it was called).

Does anybody know when Season 8 is going to be shown in Australia? Every Sunday I skim the TV guide looking for any mention of South Park, but it's never on, just 'Crank Yankers' and 'Pizza'.

Well - M0le, you're obviously not very observant. Over the past FOUR YEARS, new seasons of South Park have always begun airing in Australia towards October/November. Why would this year be any different?

Besides, if they started airing them now, they'd only have 7 episodes to air. SBS only tend to air South Park when they have a full season ready. We've got a long wait.  :(

Well, Beamer, I've only started watching South Park at home since around the end of Season 5, and before that, I could only watch them at a friends house, who taped them for me, as my mum insisted that I was too young to watch it. And as I haven't been watching regularly for long, I haven't noticed that they start in October/November.
Anyway, thanks for answering.   :)

Ah, okay. I've been watching since Season 1, and since Season 4 began airing, I've noticed that they've all premiered roughly about 10-6 weeks before Christmas.

It makes sense when you compare it to the American schedule - by the time we air the first half of Season 8, they'll be onto the second half, so we can air the entire season without any breaks - unlike what they do in America.  :)

Yeah, it's the same thing in Canada. New seasons start airing around the same time as the second episode of the second half of the American season. I usually have the first half watched via computer anyway.

sorry for bringing up old news, but my friend said he found princess and the red balloon somewhere. he even described what sounded like the truth, if it was made. any sources confirming the possibility that the third episode could have been made but not aired?

I watched 'The Jeffersons' a while ago. Did anybody find it disturbing to actually hear and see all of Kenny's expressions before his head was shoved through the ceiling?

yeah it was kinda weird, since weve only seen his face and expressions once b4 in the movie. So yeah, it was kinda weird. I loved that part though, I had no idea it was him til i heard the famous "Oh my god, you killed Kenny!". I loved this episode.

That there was a blonde boy who was told "Be glad you're finally doing something," made me slightly suspicious that it might be Kenny, but I didn't really expect it to really be him at all. I was just kinda confused until they said his name. Poor Kenny. I love that kid.

its really sad how Kenny's character has gone totally downhill since comming back after he "died" from the skin disease a few seasons back. He used to be really funny and now he's just a background character...

I miss the Kenny that knew what all the dirty words meant, was poor as sin, had a brother, and got killed all the time.

Matt and Trey are sick of him. The only reason they brought him back was because of the fans constantly bitching. I would rather have Butters or Tweek as the fourth friend to tell you the truth; They're just better characters.

The boy's are less naive and more knowing now than they were in the first few seasons (Cartman would know what a word like "Mung" means now days), and Kenny's deaths were starting to get old. I'd oust him as the fourth friend, put Butters back in there, and put Kenny in a background role like Token or Clyde; That way he could still die every now and then (Maybe once every 7 episodes like he's doing now), and the kids could still rip on him for being poor.

I assume you mean 12:10 am. Showing South Park at lunch time would be very odd scheduling.

I saw the one where the old people are driving around killing everyone and they take over the town.  :laff:

I loved the bit where the boys and Stans dad ran into the house and it was like a zombie movie with old people crashing through the walls!  :D

Good to see their still funny.

"We'll start by sneaking into the town, cleverly disguised as black people. At 5.45 Kenny and Kyle will split off and set up a diversion at the East side of town. Meanwhile, Stan and I sneak into the mayors office and steal some of the explosives the old people have stashed in there. 9.00, we rendezvous at the Country Kitchen Buffet, where we strap the explosives and the timer to Kyles chest. We say our tearful goodbyes to Kyle, and then send him in."
I remember that one. It was a good episode, but it wasn't the best episode of Season 7. Anybody noticed how they seem to be getting better every season?

It seems to me that it's getting less popular each season as well as getting better.

The new South Park episodes are just in the shadow of its former greatness, but it's still good enough to keep me watching.

I just heard my friend has a single DVD with every South Park episode on it in pretty good quality (up to what episode I'm not sure).

Prepare your lives to mine and then kill yourselves!!  :evillaugh:

Now all I need is a working DVD drive...  :(

Totally. These great new episodes are def. in the shadow of classics like Mecha-Streisand, Chinpokomon and others earlier in the series. But in my mind, i think some of them are much better.

I thought the best season was 6, but there really hasn't been much a a dip since then. It's like the difference between seasons 4 & 5 of the Simpsons.

Well I actually think 4 to 5 of Simpsons is a fairly big dip, especially at the time.

But as I've probably said before, I think South Park is easily in its prime right now.  Its just a far better show post-movie.  I sort of consider the movie to be the thing that set it off on the mean streak its in now.

Chinpokomon is still my all time favorite episode. Absolute genius. I guess I could relate to this because they were talking about something I would identify with...I was once a Pokemaster you know.

I think it's alot better at the social commentary now but it's lost some of the crazyness of the early seasons which, in a way, is a good thing because if they kept making episodes as crazy as Mecha-Streisand for however many seasons it's been people would have got bored of it long ago.
