Do they still make Daria, or did it go the way of its older brother Beavis and Butthead?

I haven't seen Daria for so long, but the sarcastic comments were so hilarous, I had to write them down  :p

Daria is out of production after 5 seasons on MTV.  The program is no longer broadcast on MTV, but it is showing on Noggin.  However, the episodes on Noggin are highly edited.

Daria would be hard to put on DVD because it used a ton of copyrighted songs.  If they did put it out, the music would be removed or replaced.

i fail to see the point of Daria being animated. It's a clever clever show. I just would have liked it more if it were real. then we could have real cool actors & not these dawsons creek / ben affleck types.

well for one with real actors you couldn't get the eyeball thing with Mr-what's-his-name going, I don't see the point in disagreeing with the medium, it'd be a sweet show regardless.

There are other people like me!

Being obsessive, I saw every episode of Daria. It was a great show, cynical and humorous, and that is probably the reason why it died in it's -

F-f-fifth season! Like Futurama!

There are actually 2 movies that I know of Daria's that are on video
Daria: Is It Fall Yet? www.imdb.com/title/tt0250440
Daria: Is It College Yet www.imdb.com/title/tt0285627

Yeah those movies are at the end of Season 4 & the lil' Season 5. Is it Fall Yet?' was on Free-to-Air TV in Australia (long time ago).

The movies arnt much, they coencide (spelling??) with the Season before it, in other words - just wrapping up unfinished business. Still worth watching  :)

Unlike Futurama, however, Daria got weaker in its last few episodes. Especially those "movie" episodes. Yuck. (Although I love, love, LOVE the fact that they used the members of Garbage to promote that last movie.)

But damn, I loved that show; as a 9th & 10th grader I would get people coming up to me, staring for a little while, then blurting out "You're Daria! Dude! No, really!"

Sigh.. I haven't been mistaken for a cartoon character in over five years, now. I miss those days!

To be honest though, besides the end credits I never felt the show used the licensed music very effectively anyway. It was like a 5 second interlude that Dad's Army used to use inbetween scenes.

But even if it does have the music, they have paid to license it for that episode, thats like saying the Season4 Futurama discs cant use "Tv Party" song, or they should take pretty woman out of "Cyber House Rules" to put it on DVD.

It's actually a disappointment that a large percentage of Daria's physical comedy occurs in that same old intro sequence every episode. She's clearly very good at it!  :hmpf:

I love Daria, but I just CAN'T watch it on Noggin. For one, the channel is like 5,000 times louder than all the other channels. This I could deal with, if they didn't PLAY COMMERCIALS FOR 95% OF THE SHOW. And not just commercials, HIDEOUS commercials. Comercials that make me want to take a rusty spoon and gouge my eyes out. Commercials for shows on the same mofo channel that I would never watch, not if someone threatened to pork me with a phone book. It sucks. Hardcore. It'll probably be on DVD SOMEDAY. . .right???
